I worked for 1 company for 47 years that had a bunch of Lorain shovels.I ran the 79,80 820 and 85 models with shovel fronts till the loaders put them down then clam,dragline and hydraulic excavators.Would love to hear from old friction rig ops and or old Navy Seabees that were equipment ops boomer829@yahoo.com
With this club, when a member leaves or whatever, the machine usually gets bought by another member, or in the case of the Erie B, willed to the club. In many cases, machines get sold between members, and you don't know the current owner of a machine, just that it's still owned within the club. It is an excellent situation for preserving machines despite personal transitions.

It won't be cut up any time soon.

Great to see it working even if only for show. Then to be cut up and lost for ever !
