  • You must have felt very accomplished after finishing this

  • that must suck for the euphonium, just off beats the whole time...

  • @rotflmaopmpqxyz FASHION BUG.

  • Could you please post a MIDI Version? Or private message me for an email address to email it to me?

  • Dude, you're awesome.

  • Big fan of the song and the arrangement, but on that note it is obvious you have never played a mellophone.

  • this is so awesome!

  • hey im a big fan of you and im still in junior high if you could comment back it would make me happy :D PS: i subscribed you :)

  • lol i see you got tired of writing the dotted 8th notes when you wrote the mallet parts. nbd that looks like a bitch to write all the dotted 8th notes with 16 rests

  • the piece sounds badass, just what's up with the key of the trumpets and mellophones? These days, corps mellos are in F and corps trumpets are in Bb while the low brass (although pitched in Bb) is written in concert pitch.

  • @RayDheartpower

I agree with you, it would take practice, although if you look at it, it's a few sets that repeat over and over, practice it would take but the pay off in the end would be an amazing 4 mallet player, i played 4 mallets for UIL solo, and i can say that it does take a lot of practice, but the ablility to play with 4 mallets is a talent you never forget :)

  • @RayDheartpower

Um, most high schools play with 4 mallet technique...well at least most of the highschools I've seen around So cal

  • @RayDheartpower why do you say that?

  • aw cool trumpets have a cool part

  • Hahaha I would HATE to have the up beat parts! Hahahaha

  • Umm, e-flat trumpets? Haven't seen them in a while...

  • @iamdeath23

    Ha, ha.

  • @iamdeath23 I see one in my room right now. o.o

  • @iamdeath23 , in the score doesn't specify what key of trumpet is playing, maybe the score only show the real sound, the concert key, to transpose to it depending of the trumpet you have.

By the way, e-flat trumpet is very common for the most frequently played classical trumpet concerts (f.e. Neruda, Haydn, Hummel)

  • @iamdeath23 If you look at it, he has accidentals written in.

  • Dude, yes! This is legit! But hey, I was wondering: Do you think I could possibly obtain a copy of the sheet music file(s) for the score of this, so that my school's symphonic band can play it? That'd be extra sweet. Thanks.

  • @wannabroosky22

Thanks for the compliments. Sorry, but setting the score up to be read would just be too much work on my part. Just listen and enjoy for now.

  • @reeldeelpeel Awe. It's all good. I understand where you're coming from: I tried transcribing a song from Mario Galaxy, and essentially got nowhere. haha

  • @reeldeelpeel yea dude i would also so love a full score of this u did a fantastic job and i would love to play this.

  • @RayDheartpower

Uhhh, What is impossible about the mallet part?

  • @RayDheartpower

You've never heard a song which is impossible to play? Nice contradiction there.

And all the mallet parts are absolutely possible to play, if anyone ever wanted to play them. Let me know of a part that you think isn't possible to play and I guess I'll give you a free playing lesson. Actually, I probably won't since you're being extremely obnoxious and you should probably shutup ASAP to avoid getting blocked. ;)

    Cheers, child.

  • @RayDheartpower

Weird, you assume I arranged this for some ensemble that will actually play it live, and didn't think once about how it might possibly have been arranged just for the sound, not the sheets. Hmm, isn't that something?

Is every techno song (for example) in the world possible to play? Think about it.

  • i love this!!! is there any way to get the music? :)

  • man, i wouldn't mind using this as a warm-up with SF Renegades

  • hahaha this is awesome man.

  • omg this so freacking awsome i linked it to facebook omg its awsome

  • I like where it can go. I feel like its missing some cool shit and harmonies in the brass. Oh, I'm a brass guy, by the way. And screamer notes. Lots of screamer notes.

  • this is such a great song

  • i know i already commented but i love hearing this and im a fan of kirby. :) by the way , what instrument do u play ?

  • @michael10655

Percussion. Go to my channel and check out my other pieces!

  • you did an awesome job with this. :)

  • @michael10655

    Thanks dude!

  • Hey! Really nice!

  • @adrummerhead,

    Thanks so much!

  • very, very impressed.although that isnt to say your orignals arent as good as this, because that would be a lie. You are amazing

  • hold on, AUUUUUUUUUUUGH (eargasm) ok, all bet- AUUUGH (more eargasm)

Fucking amazing, + description "i wrote the parts completely by ear!" HOLY SHIT MAN U ROCK (suscribe for sure)

  • i wanna learn this on Vibraphones :D

  • No trumbone?

  • @ianflowforever,

    No brain?

  • @reeldeelpeel Huh? Was it labled as something else? If so, sorry. If not, I'm confused. I play trumbone and when I saw brass, I got excited because I hoped I'd be able to play, because it's always a hastle hitting baritone and tuba notes XD

  • @ianflowforever,

It's "labeled" for "drum corps", which do not include trombones in their hornlines. Also, your spelling is questionable. It's all good, no need to be sorry for anything.

  • @reeldeelpeel Oh my. Sorry. I apologize, I didn't notice that bit.

  • @reeldeelpeel If your argument is that drum corps don't use trombones, pretty sure they don't use a tamborine either.

  • @Foxfire510,

Hahahahaha, watch ANY 10 drum corps shows from ANY year in the last 20 and tell me there is no tambourine used in the pit!

And are you SERIOUSLY arguing with me about trombones being used in drum corps? Seriously???!!

  • @Foxfire510 Dude get your shit straight. There isn't one percussion instrument known to man that has not been used in some drum corps show some how or another. Yes, this includes tambourine (did you know there's a "u" there?).

  • @leemcd56

    Thanks Nate, you're awesome.

  • @ianflowforever Drum Corps do not include trombones in their shows. Although many of their Euphonium/Baritone players double on it.

  • @ianflowforever Question for you, What is a Trumbone? I've never heard of such instrument.

  • @Tuba408Bass It's the real name of the little instrument that slides up and down. I hope you're joking with me, since your name involves tubas and brass....

    I play one.

  • @ianflowforever Your spelling is "Trumbone" with a U, the normal spelling is with an O, From all of my research the only time that there was ever a U was with the original Sackbut.

  • @Tuba408Bass Whoops, sorry, my mistake. I've made that mistake a lot, and I'm horrible about that. Sorry!

  • @reeldeelpeel no need to be a dick about it dude

  • @nickygurf77drums,

no need to be extraordinarily obnoxious about it dude

  • @reeldeelpeel well i mean...he just asked a simple question and you had to snap on him...there's no need for that; he just made a simple mistake. and i wouldnt say im being obnoxious, im actually just politely telling you that it was a bit rude, thats all im saying. but its okay, if u wanna be a dick ill understand. i would act like a cocky little shit to if i could copy video game music note-for-not onto other scores. damn, did i mention how talented u are?

  • @nickygurf77drums note-for-note*

  • @nickygurf77drums,

Honestly, I wasn't even sure which comment that I replied to that you were referring to my being a dick about. All I know is that way too often, 13-17 year old children give me way too much bullshit to correct here on youtube, and I've lost all my patience and understanding for it.

So it's really not being a dick or cockiness on my part, it's just lack of common sense on the other person's part, which is extremely obnoxious.

    And please don't brown-nose, lol.

  • @reeldeelpeel haha im sorry for brown-noseing, my mistake, i just saw that comment and i felt bad for the poor guy, thats all. and ill take back what i said, because you are a drummer im assumeing and u did all of this by ear so yeah, thats actually kindof a very big deal.

  • Haha, I would LOVE to play tuba in this piece!!!!

  • This was so epic, i swear I coulda just broke down dancing. Hm....why not? -starts break dancing to the awesomeness- WOOOOOOO!~

  • @Detlev9109 man i need to freaking take music theory this doesnt make sense dam

  • What key is this in?

  • @Detlev9109 pretty sure its Eb

  • @paradiddlepedro But the trumpets are in Bb.

  • @Detlev9109 it doesnt say that plus if the were in Bb they would be in the key of F not C but what do i know im a percussionist to me this isnt making to much sense sense i also thought mellophone was in F and wouldnt that make its key in like Bb clear that up for me

  • Sibelius totally fails at trumpet and vocal sound... but it gets the percussion going pretty well. For example the "lead vocals" in Sibelius, oh dear....

  • @Pudersepp,

Uh, no. Sibelius is a music notation program, not a sample library. If you're referring to my pieces with percussion, which do sound decent, I purchased a separate sound sampler called Virtual Drumline. I COULD have purchased another program like Garriton Marching Brass to better sample these sounds, but it hasn't been necessary for what I write 99% of the time; percussion.

  • @reeldeelpeel

its Garritan Concert and Marching Band..(GCOMB)

GPO is better though if you improvise in orchestral arrangements

  • Awesome work dude!

  • playing off beats like that would be so hard

  • i remember seeing this on your laptop on tour. never thought it was this crazy though. nice work.

  • this is amazing is it possible for me to get a copy of this? pretty please?

  • @FuyukiUchiha,

Thanks for your compliments but I can't sell it or give it away since it's not my own original work and I don't have permission to do either.

  • dude, this is epic. great job! =D

  • @bandboy13,

    Thanks!

  • Awsome :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • is this for sale?

  • @xXslipskullXx,

    Sorry, but no, it's not.

  • very cool. good work

  • @saxinjax0730,

    Thanks

  • i see potential in this show. please email me if you need a battery arranger.

  • @Promark25,

Read the comment below, it's NOT a show. It's one freaking minute long, jeeze! Why would I "need a battery arranger" when there are clearly battery parts right there anyway?!

  • so let me get this straight.. i gave you a compliment and you come back with a smartass response. sorry i tried to be a good person and offer good words and a chance to improve what youve written.

and i offered because that battery parts are shit.

  • @Promark25,

Your 'compliment' was stupid and annoying since it's not a "show" or anything close to one.

You "tried to be a good person", please. Your reaction to how I responded shows your true colors.

There's no NEED for it to be improved since I don't want it to be. It's a year old, maybe I'm fine and happy with how it is, and just want to forget about it?

No one goes around insulting YOUR writing, post your own arrangement if these battery parts are such shit. It's KIRBY. No one cares!

  • Awesome show. I love the brass and battery parts. Mallet parts not so much...

  • @deviouslife,

Uh, it's not a "show". It's something I did in a few days mostly out of boredom.

  • @reeldeelpeel Since when is anything for Drum Corps not a show? That's all that drum corps is nowadays.

  • @deviouslife,

It's arranged or the (very) basic INSTRUMENTATION of a drum corps, not for an actual drum corps itself.

  • @reeldeelpeel,

Also, there are corps songs, encores, marches, pep tunes and ALL KINDS of other pieces of music written for battery and brass. Every drum corps arrangement isn't an 11 minute work structured around sets of drill you know, or maybe you don't?

  • @deviouslife You realize that if there was no such thing as doing something different than what's already out there, tritones would still be considered evil.

  • @andybpiano I was actually referencing the sad state that drum corps has become using irony, but thanks for enlightening me and supporting such idealism in a concept that is doomed to conformity.

  • do you have just the percussion part?

  • Awesome!

  • this would have SOO much energy as a drum corp show lol

  • lol....WOOOOOOOOOW now thats whats up

  • The battery part is spectacular.

  • Why do you say that?

  • @HugzTiem,

    Why wouldn't anyone say that?

  • Psh, I'm sure there's a corps out there dying to find music for a kirby show xD

  • @HugzTiemm

    Actually, not really, lol.

  • It's worth a compliment xD

  • This is amazing! =D

  • Epic Win X10

  • I keep watching this and what gets me is the battery part, spectacular.

  • Yes 69th rating FTW!! Good job doing an actually right arrangement btw. I would like to see a corps try this

  • Wow, pretty much the coolest thing I've heard. Im a fan of your work.

  • @MrCReagan,

    Awesome, thanks :)

  • this arrangement is so accurate its amazing any way u could post a link for the score

  • @cantivskeitaro, thanks for seeing and appreciating the detail :) Sorry though, I won't be posting a link or any sheet music.

  • tht was an epic win

  • @will3579, thanks so much!

  • That was pretty awsome. I might have to learn the mallet prcussion part (xylaphone).

  • @TIm7up, Thanks! Please do learn it, it's fun in C minor, and the relative.

  • It's amazing how you get something like this together in a few days, I'm looking forward to some more:)

Maybe you can try the forrest gump suite next time?

  • I'm planning to have another Danny Elfman one done by the winter holidays, "Grand Finale" from "Edward Scissorhands". It's just really hard to find time. The Forrest Gump Suite could be a good project after that, I'll think on it ;)

  • lmao wow, nice job.

  • Thank you!

  • Could you make a version where you give the euphonium and baritones the rhythm? I've been searching everywhere for this song on bass clef and now that I've found it, the bass clef parts are so boring! It makes me so sad :(

  • @Euphoniumplayer29, no. Sorry!

  • this is so great, nice job!

  • Thank you!

  • Man this is a suck arrangement

  • lol dude, you have way too much free time

  • This one only took a few days, lol.

  • go vibes =D

  • Ahaha, great job.

Would love to see the Banjo Kazooie theme done.

Got the intro on mallets, but that's it.

  • I may consider it for a future project :)

  • Wow ! You have a great ear. I'm not tone deaf but this would be difficult to arrange.

  • It took some time, yes, it was fun though :) Thank you!

  • This is great! 5/5

  • Thank you for the good rating :)

  • This is outstanding.

  • Thanks so much!

  • EPIC WIN, FIVE STARS

Only thing I would change is I would make 30 a pit feature and take out the mello part. Thats just IMHO, though. :)

  • That's really interesting, because I was thinking the same thing for a while! I may get back into this and work on it some more maybe add some things, but that probably won't happen for a while.

  • This is amazing!

  • Thank you!

  • man...thats friggen awesome. you should deffinately do mario next

  • It's kinda just been done though, idk.

  • Dude that was amazing

  • Thank you :)

  • holy crap that was awesome

  • Thanks :)

  • What's a Bass Marimba, and what does it look like?

    Cool song by the way!

  • Just look it up on Google. And thanks

  • Thanks.

I like the percussion ensemble the best!

  • Awesome! :)

  • Thanks! :)

  • thats well good :D

  • lol, thanks

  • Beautiful..... Just beautiful..... Can you send me this as a file compatable with Finale? I really want to show this to my Director....

  • I like it!

  • I'm glad, thank you :)

  • sickkk video, nicely done i wouldnt be surprised if the views start picking up soon.

id love the percussion/batter part , itd make a great ensemble piece

  • Thanks so much :)

  • How do you do the repeat a measure? I have sibelius and I was just wondering

  • You don't. What you do though to achieve the effect is:

1.) write in the notation how you want it to be played.

2.) hide it in the repeating measures

3.) Write the repeat bar symbol and center it on the measure.

With the notation hidden, and the symbol visible, it looks (and prints) as if the symbol is actually doing the repeating in the program.

  • Ah! Makes sense. I knew it had to be easy! lol!

  • Oh! and thanks!

  • This is amazing. Just one question, what software do you use?

  • Thank you!

The software I use is mentioned in every video description.

  • okay, sorry. Lol. I should have looked before I asked.

  • That's what they all say, lol.

  • This piece is so funny! I love it :D:D:D

  • Haha yeah, I kinda went overboard with it :)

  • wow could you send me the score for this this is the best thing i've heard you write as of today

    . great job

  • Thanks!

I'm not sure if you mean the mp3 file or the sib file, but just give me your email and I can send it to you.

  • Im only a beginner percussionist, but i absolutely love your percussion ensembles and all the other pieces you have written.

You're a fantastic musician and you deserve to be well known.

    Thanks, Colby.

    :)

  • Thank you Colby :)

  • All by ear? Wow, that's really good. This is my favorite Kirby song, and you rocked it. You must have a REALLY good ear to do that. Man, I like listening to your songs SO much. You make awesome pieces.

  • Yeah, I just downloaded an mp3 and used that to get each part. Thank you :) It's my favorite too, it's the most fun to play on mallets.

Thanks so much for your compliments, I really appreciate them :)

    And thanks for subscribing!

  • wow u get a lot of crap from a lot of people

and stay positive thaats pretty awesome... by now i would have borken my keyboard

    rofl :]

  • Yeah, I have, haha. I honestly get about twice as many good comments as negative ones, so I'm not going anywhere. I've trained myself not to be so sensitive with youtube. I make it clear that I ALWAYS get the last word (or comment) in arguments on my own videos. Eventually the naysayers seem to leave.

But honestly, I do listen to constructive criticism and I try to use advice from more experienced musicians and put that knowledge into my future pieces.

The best is always yet to come :)

  • I thought it as perfectly fine in every way. Really nice. I like that there aren't generic snare licks and such. like at 4:11 for example. and that same spot the first time though.

  • Thank you! The reason it's in the same spot the second time is because everything is the same because all I did is loop it, haha. It took me a good 20 minutes to write that little snare solo and make sure it was original, so I'm glad you noticed it! Thank you again :)

  • No problem! Yeah i know it was looped. Of course i noticed it though. I love music and I'm also a percussionist ;) I'll be starting at Troy State University's main campus this summer and will be studying music there.

You know that little snare bit reminds me of SCV style.

  • yet again flawless

    Great job

but where can i get the software for the drumline?
