    I hatch! Crawl! And swim!

Oh how I love my sweet life,

    Please don’t hunt me.

    —A Green Sea Turtle

  • y wud an org like greenpeace forge a video???? grow up guyz.in t'dayz wrld money nd profit r more imp thn nature r environment

  • I don't know if this is true but I hope it's not.

  • Turtles have little breeding habitat left, building and development is the most threatening human interaction interfering with turtle reproduction as well as many shore and seabirds, yet as a fisherman, nets are supposedly the main culprit. Funny, i have never caught a sea turtle in my life, yet tourism and building as well as driving automobiles on beaches isn't mentioned. Though, last week a sea turtle was found flat on a beach here, hit by a vehicle. How many nests have been run over?????

  • why don't you walk to the factory and tell them...

  • Poor turtles how can u paint them!!

  • It's just the shells.

  • It's not paint by the way, they edited it to look colored.

  • TATA is releasing the world's cheapest car. It's also driving turtles to extinction.**** that is just how the NWO pigs work. World Wide Fund for Nature its president for a while was Prins Bernhard(Bilderberg), and that while he went hunting for rino's and what not in Africa. That is why greenpeace isnt doing anything for the environment, is my belief. A big fraud to fuck with ppl's minds.

  • greenpeace lies

  • 2shaks1house ur just ANOTHER display of pure ignorance. If there are other people like you in this planet, then im pretty sure we're doomed. Go fall in a ditch or something. Go Greenpeace!

  • We should pay attention to the public transportation, and not releasing millions of unsafe and polluting private cars on the streets. That's ridiculous! I hate how everything in India is about money these days.

  • yea man, its already bad enough they built the world's largest man made island.

  • greenpeace moan about killing turtles when they go and kill aload by paintin em!

  • its probably edited on.

  • you can tell its edited on, there's no way they could be just hatching with paint on their backs

  • Of course it's edited.

  • ohhh that is horrible

    please don't buy that car

  • hey sry but i not know what is a TATA.....well in my country doesnt exist xD....but i would like to know......why TATA is helping to exterminate the turtles???........im not agree with that, i just want to know about TATA...you know to get some strong reason to protest......thx ^^

  • This port comes up at a spot very close to sensitive ecological habitats. Its an environmental travesty, and the media stays silent on the whole issue.

Here iz your strong reason, 'construction has been happening for years now & they haven't stopped at all for a proper study to happen on the threat that the port construction poses to the ecology around it.'

  • are u from the UK? coz if u are, yeh there is no tata in this country. i thought it was a joke at first as it means goodbye in british slang. i guess it means goodbye to the turtles.

  • im from colombia......

  • well it goes to show that tata are definately not a large worldwide known company!

  • oh dear !

yet another whiteman comes to tell us what is good for us !

go and tell these to GM ford and sundry other US and european carmakers who still create greedy fuel guzzling dinosaurs. even after destroying the environment for 100 years USA hasn't stopped.

clean up your own $hit before you come to teach us.

  • it has nothing to do with race. just because other companies may be guilty of destroying animal habitats and the environment in general it DOES NOT make it right what Tata is doing. It is disgusting. It shows you just how obsessed by money a few men can be to destroy the environment for everyone and everything

  • it has everything to do with RACE !

this whole olive turtle incident is a BIG LIE brought out by western establishment and their lackeys. TATA has EXCELLENT record of protecting environment and livelihood of people around their projects (heck, they spend more than 80% of their profit on CHARITY !)

it's nothing but a ploy by TATA's competitors.

  • AGREE!

@fulcrum29: TATA has EXCELLENT record of protecting environment and livelihood of people around their projects

  • True... True...

  • I beg to differ..why dont you ask the fisherman to stop using nets & trawlers or at least turtle friendly ones...Tata group has a long history of committment to nature......

  • other issues like the fishing nets ,railings where they can get caught, etc are being handled amicably.why is Green peace acting so irresponsible?

  • I grew up in Orrisa, and am familiar with their problems trust me that the people of Orrisa needs the industry to focus on development in their state and improve lives for millions of impoverished people.

  • Its a people vs. environment scenario and there is no easy solution. But we could at least TRY to find a solution instead of settling for a temporary fix in the name of development.

We can even say 'natural selection' wiped out the species in the bio-diverse region around Dhamra but what stops us from doing that is the humanity inside all of us. Its creation and destruction happening side by side. Judge and get ready to be judged.

  • There are bigger issue like meat consumption which is contributing to gobal warming, how about Greenpeace and its members turn vegetarians and then dictate others

  • Like I say, no one is above trust, I am dissapointed in Greenpeace who is letting people down by misleading videos like this

  • I was traumatized as a kid whenever TMNT came on, fucking mutated gigantic arse ninja turtles. Kill them before they learn kung-fu or some shit like that.

  • omg yur horrible

  • I flagged this video for animal abuse because of the coloured shells ,fuck greenpeace eco-terrorist scum. TATA is your daddy, go back to the stone age faggots.

  • How come Greenpeace never does an anti hummer or Mercedes, BMW commercial ? They sell more then the Nano ? Greenpeace can suck on it !!

  • i posted a comment on the greenpeace facebook page and was disconnected by the admin. yeah right it's not propaganda. gimme a break. i care about the creatures as much as the next ecologically conscious person, but not having the cajones to listen to perspectives reeks of a childish organization. -jane (let's see if this comment lasts)

  • Greenpeace changes attitudes, protects the environment and promotes peace by:

Catalysing an energy revolution to address climate change

Challenging wasteful and destructive fishing Creating a global network of marine reserves

Protecting the worlds ancient forests and those who depend on them

Reducing dependence on finite resources Calling for the elimination of nuclear weapons

Promoting safer alternatives to hazardous chemicals

Promoting socially and ecologically responsible farming practices

  • Greenpeace is full of crap.. full of lies and promotes a anti-third world agenda

  • all said and done,, this is a professionally done video,, short and gives the message intended,,

  • "Globalisation has brought in new opportunities to developing countries. Greater access to developed country markets and technology transfer hold out promise improved productivity and higher living standard. But globalisation has also thrown up new challenges like growing inequality across and within nations, volatility in financial market and environmental deteriorations."

  • Greenpeace forecast:Turtles will not nest this year.

Fact:Turtles have nested in huge numbers.

    Get ur facts right!

  • My video mashup....

    watch?v=-8pOhLxg-8c

  • cute stuff =:-D

  • Sign up to Greenpeace and make a better world.

  • I will. Meanwhile why don't you go try getting a real job? :)

  • I like to be as eco friendly as the next guy, no sense tearing stuff up just to tear stuff up. However, Greenpeace is totally ignoring the fact that if this car DOES gain popularity in the West, it will mean cleaner air and less fuel consumed in the nations that use the most and give one of the poorest nations on earth a chance to flourish. HEY GREENPEACE, people are NATIVE to this planet too. We didn't just drop out of the sky, ya know?

  • Thank you for sharing this excellent video.

  • I hope we get to a google search which could tell us more about the problems that are faced by a local at dhamra on a daily basis.

  • "I hope we get to a google search which could tell us more about the problems that are faced by a local at dhamra on a daily basis."

but then what about the long-term effects of the dredging thats being continued at the port construction site. Erosion, ecocide....its endless...

  • Yeah. All of the stuff that somehow miraculously doesn't happen at other ports. This one is special. It'll really, really hurt the ecology. Let's ignore the fact that it's 15 kms from the nesting place of the turtles. In fact why let any facts interfere with our emotionally cosy view of the world.

  • greenpeace and its supporters are the ones with the cosy view of the world. they are the ones who want a world filled with nobel species of turtles and other endangered species.

the world is changing and any species that disappear did so because of our changing world. rather than try to keep all these species, which the changes in nature have selected against, lets figure out ways to adapt to this change...rather than try to stop the imevitable change by reverting to some unattainable past!

  • "lets figure out ways to adapt to this change...rather than try to stop the imevitable change by reverting to some unattainable past!"

You've got me hooked on this, what do you think we should do in order to adapt to global warming? Maybe grow gills? You kno, its upto us to decide inevitability. If you keep raping and pillaging the planet citing inevitability, then where does it end? Its time to stand up and be counted, you're either FOR the planet, or just a passerby.

  • the easiest thing to do when facing change is to stop it. If you think every human act that displaces wildlife is a crime against the planet where does it end?

with or without these turtles marine ecosystems will rearrange to accomidate change. they will adapt. species will flourish in areas they previously coudnt because of the presence of the turtle. humans too have this ability to adapt to change.

The planet is a complex system which can adapt to change. so can we

  • From a quick google search it appears that the Olive Ridleys are omnivorous, feeding on crab, shrimp, rock lobsters, sea grasses, algae, snails, fish, sessile, pelagic tunocates and small invertebrates.

So which should I save: the turtle that eats all these other creatures, or these creatures? If we must take a nonsensical higher ground, how do we choose whom to go after?

Or perhaps Greenpeace will just save us time and tell us which automotive player supported this lovely "endeavor".

  • You kno..you should check out the eco-dhamra website. They basically put it up in response to the Greenpeace campaign, but they have this video there which talks about teaching fishermen how important the turtles are in the ecological food-cycle.

You should seriously take a look at that. Its never too late for an education.

  • How about the efforts of the IUCN? Or the Wildlife Foundation? Or Greenpeace itself, which has been in talks with the whole group, but as usual decided one fine day around the launch of the car to start a campaign. No, this is truly noble. No real ulterior motive here. This is not for donations. This is only because, um, Greenpeace really cares.

  • We all can have this discussion sitting in the comfort of our world but a man standing on the shores of dhamra watching the port being built will be hoping for it to be completed so that he and his children can have a better future.

  • It seems that no one is interested in the progress which is related to this port and all the fingers are pointing in one direction. There is still a good chance that the turtles will be saved but one things for sure, that if the port is not built who will save the people of dhamra

  • The common man of orissa might not think like us and may understand only one fact which is feeding his family. But it seems to me that might be a small issue to some.

  • The ports of the world have'nt stopped work due to endangered species. They have found ways to save the species and continued development of their ports. The dhamra port project is also being built keeping in mind the importance of saving the endangered species and I dont think that after all that is being done the work should be stopped.

  • I know for a fact! that if this port is built there would a lot of people of dhamra nd orissa who would thank the people involved with building the port as they would be getting livelihood and facilities for which they had to travel to other states

  • Thanks for bringing some sanity to this nonsense (as usual) from Greenpeace. Such idiots.

  • This is an appeal to all the people who believe in the progress of our country to support the building of the port so that efforts of building the port and saving the turtles do not go to waste

  • The construction of what i read everyday is primarily based on saving the turtles and IUCN is the partner of TATAs in this cause.

  • If it wasn't so sad I would laugh about this video.

Tata bought our Dutch Steel factory and I really don't like it. A steel factory causes pollution but our cie really did their best to be as clean as possible, I can still catch healthy fish. India will dismantle and rebuild our factory there and cause mass extinction in the area, chapeau !

  • hmmm

i feel bad for the turtles but this car is going bring thousands of ppl out of dire poverty... maybe even millions

wonder if TATA can build the port somewhere else?

  • People matter and so do the turtles.

We wreck our environment but why do the same to animals???

  • Have you checked the science? Or some emotional pap from Greenpeace type of orgs (who're known to do anything possible to get their 15 minutes) is enough to get you thinking?

  • We all love our country and its various offerings of nature and we would like to preserve them. But we would also like to continue on the path of progress that we have taken and create new chapters in the development of our country.

  • awaregeneration, But if you are driving animals into extinction and adding to the destruction of the planet, who will drive the cars? Ruined environment - animals = no humans. This is a truth no country can afford to ignore.

  • Well I think that its good to have a opinion about things but forcing an opinion like this is an example one of its kind. The world is changing and so are the people who understand the importance of the Building the port and saving the turtles aswell.

  • The problem here is that we are completely unaware as how much effort has gone into creation of this port. The creation is being done with the help of environmental experts who have assured that the turtles would be saved so lets believe them and let the port be completed.

  • There is no space for any radical elements in the world. Lets all get together for both the causes conservation of the species and building the port.

  • I agree, there's no space for radical elements who wish to destroy the environment. Don't you think that humans already have taken far more than their share? Tata should not build this port. (BTW: the environment is more important than your job).

  • fuck turtles and fuck greenpeace hippies

  • asshole.

  • Nice to read all comments. Most of you are concerned about NANO , I would like to ask.. are we concerned about human population????India is going 1billion plus. .. are we concerned?????Look at your sin before you point fingers on others.

  • Shame on TATA !!!

  • turtles are important fot the ecological system! EVERY ANIMAL HAS A REASON!!! BE CAREFUL WITH NATURE AND NATURE IS CAREFUL WITH YOU!

  • I believe we as humans are responsible of the fate of our planet. Do we really need so much "progress" based on the destruction of our planet and extermination of animal species? I think this is not a so called progress, but rather a step back. Human's greed and obession with money is going to be the end of us.

  • Mr. Tata, don´t kill our planet. You have the way for this. What reason would you like to be remembered for in the future?

  • Tata can make their port else where, they have enough money.

    SAVE THE TURTLES!

  • I know the efforts are being made to save the turtles and there is solid pathway being created to balance turtle conservation and development. If all the work is allowed in peace, the Interests of both turtles and the development of our country can happen simulataneously

  • First effort required was to stop dredging till the Environment Impact Assessment has been completed but the TATAs didn't comply. And so they've been altering the environment all this while the debate has been going on. Now, that shows a total fall-out on the issue.

  • Save the turtles!!!!

  • Making money and creating new oppertunities for the country and helping conserve the turtles on the way is balanced stand that has been taken by the Tata group which is the balanced stand. There is no place for extremism of any kind in todays world,I wish Tata's the best in creating a port and help conserve the turtles also.

  • Tata cannot make money extincting turtles! Stop this port. We need to save what is still living in our environment and to stop making profit by killing earth ressources or species!!!

  • We care about the turtles, we care about the progress and we need both we can't just do away with either one.We need to have a broader approach towards life

  • Wow, this is crazy!!! How do so called intellectuals correlate the Nano, the port and the Olive Ridley turtle. It is a time for India to rejoice for the real peoples car NANO and not try and bring in a totally unrelated issue to the table. Let the NANO have its moment of glory..... Tell Greenpeace, 'no to stupidity!!!!!!!'

  • It is related, the same TATA is building the Dhamra port..

    'no to stupidity!!!!!!' ....Amen.

  • Well Nano is the pride of India, and I for one am waiting to see it soon on the roads. TATA is a large company involved in various projects, and yes the turtles are important in their plans, a lot is being done to take care of them... so this is waste of a video is devoid of any logic

  • Comment removed

  • The world where change is the eesence of living and why is everything being shown as Man vs Nature, by the looks of things the efforts are continous to make sure that both can survive on earth.

But the radical approach of the some elements is hampering the development work aswell as the conservation activities.

  • Iam an Indian and I love this country as much as any true Indian would and I believe that the creation of this port is dream for all of us....Let us live our dream

  • i wud like to c these living room intellectuals step on the shores of Orissa look at a hungry kid in his eyes & xplain to him that the 1st meal for the morning isnt as important as soybean growth in the US or y farm animals in the ranches r in apathy. My earnest request to u guys is let us developing countries find our way to your spoilt standards coz if u keep dealing with each issue the way u mng ur economy u will do to progress in my country what u hv dne to the financial health of the world

  • that's not a "rational opinion"... it's just a cheap and dishonest argument. I'm from Argentina (the paradise of the soya) and still people doesn't have to eat and the situation is worst. So, don't put the typical "environment vs jobs" because this is simply not true. Don't be so cheap, lets discuss facts. Factual ones.

  • i hear that because i'm a vegetarian i would like non vegetarians to erode.....and what i understand is because i work with greenpeace I would like the impoverished Oriya to erode

  • I think the facts are clear and some of the comments that has been posted here has been made with the intention to discredit the messenger. It seems Greenpeace is upsetting some people in TATA. If really TATA are a visionary company with clear values and principles, and are so innovative as they proclaim themselves, I think it's very easy to change decisions and listen the concerns of 200 scientists (a tenth of whom are with IUCN) and stop the port until have new environmental assessment. Easy.

  • The time spent creating this video could have been used to do some actual work on the issue.

But I believe the work is only expected from Tatas.

  • Oh!Greenpeace let us Indians be in peace.

  • I think Greenpeace can never run out of products that they can target as Tatas will still keep adding new ones for us.

  • Global Warming - Did You Know?

by SupaM0o, available on You Tube

    Greenpeace hypocricy is revealed.

  • people are selfish, they put cheap cars before the preservation of a species.

Tata is lousy company, and the fact that like 3/4ths of trucks in India are manufactured by them doesn't help. The diesel powered trucks pollute the air badly, if you go to Madras or Bombay you can feel the pollution in the air.

  • hey i just realised with the amount of money greenpeace seems to be making...producing adds and all ..........they don't need the nano ...i do

  • hey i want my Nano

the plant is in Gujarat the the turtles are in Orissa the reccesion across the world ...let them make the Nano in "peace" if you understand the meaning of the word

  • Comment removed

  • Oh ok and someone pass that "peace" along to the rest of nature as well. Maybe the turtles could use some. Just a thought :[

  • World's Cheapest car by "TATAs"

World's Cheapest Publicity stunt By "Greenpeace"

  • Great attempt to get mileage from the common mans car to make yourself noticed.

Where the world wants to follow what Tatas have done for the common man in India. They are pulled down by forces who want to gain attention by frivolous antics

  • green peace, sirf 1 bar ye socho ki ek admi jo scooter ke peeche anpi biwi ya beti ko bitha ke road pe nikalta hai aur jisko bahut se log, buri nazro se dekhte hai,, kabhi kabhi scooter ke peeche gadii bagate hai, unko chedte hai,,, vo scooter wala har bar apni scooter ko kick marke start karne se pehle yahi sochta hai ki ek gaadi hoti jo budget me hoti to main bhi safe aur secure mehsus karta.

  • Global Warming - Did You Know?

by SupaM0o, available on You Tube

    Greenpeace hypocracy is revealed.

  • Livestock indutry is No.1 cause of global warming as United Nation FAO says. Whale meat is green protein source and Greenpeace is against it. That is why Greenpeace is labeled as Environmental Terrorist. Greenpeace activists consume tons of Beef, Ram and Chicken everyday and sadly they all look so fat. To raise more money, they oppose whaling and do nothing about livestock industry. Greenpeace doesn't care about environment, but raising money.

  • From the Greenpeace website: In the United States, more than one third of all fossil fuel and raw material consumption is used to raise livestock. Animal agriculture contributes significantly to global warming by producing more than 100 million tons of methane annually. More than 260 million acres of US forests have been cleared to grow grain for livestock .. animal farming is the leading threat to endangered species and the number one cause of species extinction in the US and around the world.

  • Can you please refer me to the many fat, ram eating Greenpeace activists whom you've encounters? This should be fairly easy, since you wrote that "they all look so fat." Yet, strangely, I've never ran into any of the apparent multitude of obese, ram consuming Greenpeace workers that you have. I should also point out that grass feeding animals is a great way to sequester carbon from the atmosphere. Free range hens and grass fed cattle are not problematic. Only industrial factory farming is.

  • the problem is billions of force-bred animals that were never meant to exist naturally. if they were all to live in the fields, grazing, exactly where would that be? so much of the rainforest has already disappeared to create more grazing land & for growing grains for animal feed. Animal agriculture, regardless what type, is unsustainable in long term, if everyone is going to get their piece of meat. consider all the energy, land, water ... needed & consider the growing human population.

  • September of last year I read an interesting entry (titled "Amber Waves of Soybeans") on a blog titled "Cheeseslave" by a woman named Ann Marie (the founder of Real Food Media), concerning a visit to her family's hometown in Oregon, Ohio. She wrote: "You dont see any cows on family farms anymore because theyre all locked away in factories or on feedlots. The landscape says so much about what has happened to our country and to our food supply."

  • "All this corn and soybeans, which is grown to feed animals in factory farms, and to make ingredients like soybean oil and high fructose corn syrup for processed foods." Point being, there ARE places for animals to graze freely, but, to quote Ann again: "...its all soybeans. As far as the eye can see. The land is rented out to farmers. My aunt said the only way they can make any money at all is to grow soybeans."

  • Here's a great quote from Jill Davis, whose on the YouTube video "Raw Milk Brisbane Extra, Australia": "Ask any organic or bio dynamic farmer if they can maintain soil fertility without animal manure-lots of it. Theyll tell you no. As Mark Purdey, farmer and BSE expert puts it 'If the vegetarian vision is to gain precedence over our global agricultural systems, then chemical and biotech agriculture would boom to make good the shortfall of fertility lost once our livestock were annihilated.' "

  • if everyone is to consume meat, dairy and eggs- (and you just wait when developing countries reach our spoiled standards) there's a need for factory farming. what some ppl dont realize is that both human greed for unnecessary animal products AND our population- are constantly growing. breeding, feeding & taking care of billions of animals just to consume them is simply unsustainable & irrational these days. think of all that land which could be used to directly grow food for human consumption.

  • I, for one, would like to see meat eating seriously erode (I'm a vegetarian), so we definitely have some common ground there.

  • great. well, thats all we can do- our part- & best we can.

  • yes... sadly, most grown soy goes to feed force-bred animals, pigs in particular, so that humans can eat the pigs... besides being unethical and plain dumb it's such a waste of resources.

  • not so cheap after all.....
