  • . thank .you I have not been able to use my teadle because I didn't know how to thread the bobbin . I have had my machine for abut 15 yrs. was given to me by a aunt of mine.I have all the papers on how much she pay for it new.

  • excellent! I just bought the same exact machine, same yr, decals, everything! was thrilled to view this video, many thanks!

  • I don't have this type of machine, I have a later model 127, my bobbin winder is higher up. Some times the thread jumps off of that arm / guide while I'm winding. It makes my thread get all loopy and knotted on the bobbin. I usually end up starting over. I am new to treadling but I'm going to try pinching the thread and maybe even guiding by hand. Thanks a bunch for this video :D

  • @LadyAnneRutherford If you don't have a thread guide at the bottom right side of the machine: Bring your thread down off the threadholder on top and around to the front so the thread passes under that round knob in front and up the right side and then into the bobbin. By keeping your finger on that knob, the thread will rund from the spool around that knob and up to the bobbin winder, thus keeping the thread tight and your bobbin should wind without any hangup.

  • I think my treadle is older than this one. Because it doesn't have the cam on front to guide the thread. And it looks like the wheel rubs against a little leaather wheel to cause it to wind. Also my shuttle is open on one side. And it doesn't have a screw on there to adjust tension. Any ideas?

  • @tam73501 You don't have a Singer, do you?

  • thank you so much for this. I have just bought a treadle and I would never have worked this out by myself. My purpose is that it seems mad to generate electricity when these machines worked and still do.

  • Excellent video, informative and clear. Thank you!

  • @justfiveft Thank you for the comment, always great to hear efforts are appreciated.

  • Thank you so much!!! I have a this very same model and tried it for the first time yesterday. Used the filled bobbin that came with the machine and had some trouble...maybe it wasn't wound properly. I'll try a freshly wound bobbin to see if it works better. Your videos are wonderful!! Keep them coming!!
