  • Great video

  • first of all thank you for these great instructional videos. Origionally I'm a drummer and just started to learn guitar seriously as my second instrument. your videos really help me a lot.

btw: that's really fat sound for p90s. but i like LPs better with dual humbuckers. Have you ever tried a hagstrom swede/super swede? great fat sound and splittable humbuckers for something like strat sound. I really love it.

  • You're amazing, really enjoyed the lesson and the energy that you've put in it!!! Well explained and easy to follow, my Gibson is almost sounding like that :) Thanks

  • -*- it's sweet

  • -*-

  • Excellent lesson. Thanks

  • I just wanted to say thank you so much for putting out these great vids. I used to be very uncomfortable with soloing but thanks to you guys I'm much more confidant with my playing. Great work!

  • David, just wanted you to know that I have been watching your video lessons on Next Level Guitar and on You Tube for the past year or so. I have learned a tremendous amount about how to play. You are an awesome teacher!!! I hope to get down to NSD to check out one of your shows.. Rock On!!!

  • looks like i watched this vid too late to win or even enter lol - im always playin the blues scale... its fun!

  • david, thanks for that lesson :)

i first found you when trying to learn bat country by avenged sevenfold about 6 months ago. i found the video so helpful and was able to play it near enough straight away.

since then i have been working more on blues and yet again, your lessons do not dissapoint :)

just wanted to say thanks from the UK :)

    rock on :D

  • anyone won that guitar???

  • hey David!! gr8 job!!! i'm lovin this lesson! it put me in the greatest mood ever!! ^_^

  • Soo wait did anybody win this yet???

  • First contest winner - Dwayne J from Redlands CA won the Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop. Unbelievable story that he won this guitar as he told me had had a goldtop stolen from him many years ago and he could never replace it - now he won one so its coming home to him for the holidays - how awesome is that - what a coincidence!

    Congrats Dwayne!

    -David Taub

  • fuck...we have the same shirt!

  • you can't ship this guitar to anyone on the world sir

some people are lefthanded and play LH models =D

    owned :P

  • @Cheerok He can still ship them but the lefties just can't play them.. lol.

  • @Thekidmakesmovies

so i m out of this competition =D

  • How about signing those guitars? That would be great!

  • that guitar...omgg

  • Nice licks, and great tone, Now take that hat off and show your bald head--LOL

  • HI David your lessons are really helpful and good thanx good man

  • You know man I really have enjoyed the lessons over the years

  • hey people.. i have a zoom g2 processor and i wondering how i could get a patch similar to the one that's playing...i know it won't sound this good ..but anything close would do...

can anyone at least tell me what to search on the forum in order to achieve this tone?

im sorry if the question sounds noobish!

  • really cool riff's! thanks for sharing.

  • seriously the lesson was great.

before i startet playing blues i dindt understand rocknroll or metal.

i just played like a robot.

but you dont play blues - you feel it .

    thanks !

  • I love how you explain these in a nice way! Loving these, thank you!

  • I like you, david. I hope someday I can meet you and become your disciple

  • never broken a string by playing in 3 years of playing but today I did! To this lick!

they were only a week old too! Good elixers too

  • Hey, nice lesson. I need to ask though, are there any OTHER blues scales? I'm forced to stick to the pentatonic while usually just adding a an A sharp when i play in the key of E.

  • Thanks for the lesson, I like it.

  • now dats a sexy guitar!! i have just liked on facebook, i guess all i can do now, is keep my fingers crossed and hope for da best! its a great thing ye are doing. keep it up! ;)

  • Thanks for the lesson. I'm impressed by how easily you get those pinch harmonics to ring. This is something I need to work on -- as it can add a little flair to those licks, just like a bend could. I can get them in the meat of the strings but not so much in the high or low register...

  • Hi - thanks so much for your kind words - most appreciated! So glad that you like my lessons and that I can help you with your playing. I have some lessons here on my youtube channel on pinch harmonics as well as the full on video instructional website - check those out as they may help. ANd keep on rocking!

    David T

  • Thanks to you all i got the fire back in playing again. My playing wasnt amusing to the oddence and had pennys thrown @ me. But during my youtube adventure looking threw and saw nextlevel guitar. Got me back in the seat. Thank you>

  • strange but everytime I watch you vids I start to play some random stuff then I realise something about scales:Dthen I watch the video

  • omg i have tht same shirt!!! win!

  • its kinda modeled after a gibson? it is modeled after a gibson lol

  • @mccheese95 Correct. Epiphone use to be Gibson's main competitor many years ago, but eventually it was bought by Gibson and is now a subsidiary. It's kind of like how Squier is a subsidiary of Fender.

About half of Epiphone guitars are direct copies of Gibson guitars -- the other half are dedicated Epiphone models...

  • I love how u can turn a simple lick into something that sounds awesome, really inspiring! :)

By the way i like ur shirt, rock on Dave !

  • From a theory pov :

Does c# sound good because its the 3rd in the Amajor and we are in the Amn pent

    thanks

  • thanks

  • This guitar reminds me of Neil Young's one, but I don't know which model he has :]

  • I want that guitar!

  • That's one hell of a guitar!

I might be getting one of those sometime next week.

I'm still not entirelly convinced about the P90's though.

Any opinions ? How does it compare to standard humbuckers for example ?

  • Comment removed

  • @ragrytakr use your ears :D

  • @qwertyuiop46853

    I did.

Yet I'm still not convinced so i asked for a more experienced players opinion.

Which part didn't you understand ?

  • @ragrytakr Someone is mad for no reason...anyways P90's are single coils, they're very sensitive to touch and sorta warmer than most humbuckers, I like them a lot.

  • @ragrytakr go to wikipedia, the article on the P-90 is quite cool

  • @nfsgod1 I have a set of D'attarios Pretty nice.

  • @pdytko You mean D'addarios right?

  • @QueenToKingOfSpades yea sorry I can never get the name right....(Grammar Nazi :p)
