nice bike buddy! I got the 09 and i LOVE IT! i could have gone with either the new R6 or the S, and personally i think the styling of the S looks alot better, plus the newer model R6S' have more horsepower than the 05 R6, because even though they kept the same body they continued to upgrade and improve parts, they diverged because when they came up with the new R6 it was a completely different bike, and wanted to keep the successful line going too

yamaha has been making the pre-2005 style motorcycles from '06-present day. At the same time they make the post-2005 "newer" bodystyle R6. The old style is R6s. The new style is R6r. you can go out today and buy an R6s that looks just like all the 03-05 models but its still a newly made motorcycle.
the rs6 has lower end torque and is better for the streets the actual R6 is a track ready race bie with higher end torque both good bikes just i like the r6 body work better
lol, i agree. I just got my 2008 R6S from my dealership last week while they were having their year's end sale. Got it out of there brand new with 1 mile on the odometer. It's a rather large bike dealership, and they had like 10 other 08 models, all brand new. I love that machine :)
@poisonsunshine I have an 08 just like that one.. idk why everyone saying its not.. dumbass dont know that they took the 03-05 model and made it into a r6s
It's an 08. I just looked at one today.

the bike is not newer than 2005. in 06 they changed a shit ton of stuff like the lights, front and back, front end and rear end.
