  • @NaturallyCandi Your videos are the best, I feel like you read my mind sometimes. I big chopped a 5 weeks ago, rocked a wig & after a month I was finally comfortable with my twa! :) I felt guilty at first, but I realized that it's normal. Thank you for all the awesome information. -3

  • Thanks for this, great advice! I did my big chop July 2011, and was rocking my twa for 6 months before I slipped up and put that relaxer right back in my hair:( What the heck was I thinking?! AHHHHHHHH!!!! Now I have to start all over. I posted my 1st video just now about how I messed up so bad:(

  • Love this video and your hair! I have been natural for about 16 months and guess what? I'm about to BIG CHOP all over again! I have been so cruel to my hair and its damaged! Plus, I'm cute with my TWA!

  • i reall need this ive been natural for two years but the winter time air makes my hair sooo dry and i,ve experienced some breakage and almost ready to give up being natural but it is inspiring videos like this that push me to keep going. after alll the knowlegde & work,,,i guess i will get sum oil and do a protective style

  • Your skin is gorgeous!!! What do you use, black soap, shea butter, cocoa butter what??? How about a skin care video??

  • great video!

  • I watch almost all your videos. They're very informative. I recently did my big chop last week and I was wondering if its okay to co wash your hair everyday?

  • Girl you look like Dondria!

  • I appriciate this video. I have gone natural befor and i never thought to use youtube as a source. yet Im on my second go round and i just big chopped like a week and half ago. even though i knew most of this stuff there was alot of useful info for me! thank you for addressing these areas!! love your channel girl! you have a beautiful charater and personality!

  • you're so down to earth and blunt.. I love it!(:

  • Girl ! I loveee your septum piercing..it looks really good on you..I have my nose pierced..I think I'm gonna take it out n a few months & get my lip pierced.I'm still thinkin. Love ur vids..even tho my comment was off topic lol

  • this video was one of the most informative and explained the easiest...ive been natural for nearly seven years and the one thing i most definitely love about our hair is the versatility as well as the uniqueness of our hair....stay encouraged TWA's and continue to embrance our natural beauty.

  • @dwimone90 i think the best thing to do is never compare hair....ive noticed thats where a lot of naturals eff up (including me) i accept my texture/length for what it is and the time it grows...in fact i try not to keep up w length checks etc..

  • Very informative video! You did a great job explaining the complexity of natural hair, thank u.

  • And boy were you right about the Big chop dryness...was dry as heck, but I'm using Castor oil as a moisturizer with a little olive oil creme

  • I was looking at your video chica and said, WTH, I'm big chopping. I big chopped on 1/29/12. I was suppose to do it in March, but got anxious!..lol. I transitioned for 3months..lol thanks for the support chica :)

  • my last relaxer was in late may 2011. and i transitioned for 7 months before i did my bc. i look at your videos and a lot of the other natural hair channels and it makes me wonder what's wrong with my hair. everyone elses hair seems to be a whole lot bigger and longer at 7-8 months than mine is right now. it seems like i'm still in my twa phase. i'm feeling a little discouraged and is almost ready to go back to relaxers...it seemed like my hair grew a whole lot better with relaxers. HELP!

  • this is a really good easy explanation of the whole process

  • I will say that I rocked my TWA 100% the first few months of being natural (it was this past summer time and perfect for that). The moment fall/winter rolled around, I was soo afraid of the dryness that I started wearing yarn braids for a few months, but now my fro is out and strong. I’ve never really cared THAT much about how my hair was and was never girly and I think that’s why I was ok wearing my TWA.

  • I have been transitioning for almost 14 months now and I have been itching to big chop. My fiance thinks I should wait and let it grow out some more but I really think I am ready. Besides...I hardly wear my hair out anyway. It's always in braids or a wig. I'm just ready to start playing with styles and I feel like the relaxed ends are holding me back! I may do it in March...wish me luck!

  • @mstaten11 I know exactly what you mean. Ive been transitioning for 15 months and feel like my permed ends are holding me back also. March is coming up quick so good luck! :-)

  • @kekekrazi1 Thank you! And good luck on your journey as well! :)

  • @mstaten11 hey girl! You should def BC. Last I saw, your relaxed ends are not that long anyway (they are running from the awesome might of your natural hair). I started off with less than .5inches of hair 6 months and 3 weeks ago when I BC’d because I just lacked the patience to transition lol and I’m at 4+ inches all around now. I commend you for transitioning for so long! If you think you’re ready to let go of the relaxed ends, cut those suckers off!

  • @jackalo34 Thanks for the encouragement! I really think I will be doing it very soon! I will definately record it and post it to my channel. Do you have and vids of your journey? I would love to see how far you have come!

  • @mstaten11 No problem. I have no videos :(. I’m in college right now and very very busy so no time to make videos (or figure out how to). I do have pictures I take every now and then in case I decide to make one and post to youtube in the future.

  • You and that puff are gorgeous! Your are so pretty!

  • - girl ,, i love you !!!. lol . you is like a bestfrind to me....is tht kindda weird ?. lol

  • I freaking love your puffs!!

  • im big chopping this friday. 1 long year of transitioning. i cant wait

  • Im a new subscriber

  • I big chopped my hair two months ago and i cant seem to keep it from being so dry. Its stressing me out! Do you have a product video, or what i shud do as far as washing and aftetwards because its horribly dry and rough :(

  • @thequeenbarbieshanel Are u Protein sensitive??? I had the same issue and found out 5 months into my journey that I was indeed protein sensitive!

  • Ladies will appreciate it! Stay blessed lady!

  • Candi you are so relatable! Great video! Wish it was here when i BC'd but the new

  • Great vid & info...I'm having the issue with retaining length. So what have u been doing to retain ur length??

  • @25kimt Blow outs =)

  • Ur pretty af:)

  • Girl tell me bout that feeling I big chopped the day after I got a perm. Watched some youtube videos and I couldn't take it anymore. Happy 2 say I will b 1 year natural 4-28-12 :). And yes who else grows this type of lovely beautiful cotton candy hair. Awesome video

  • my daughter wore braids after her big chop also. Im 17 months transitioning I was also comparing my growth to others who was on my timeline but I've stopped bc its actually nerve wracking. Great advice tips

  • Nice vid. You remind me of ThomasAdrianna ( I might, be misspelling her first name).

  • This was a great video...this comment it truly from real talk

  • Great vid! Some really good info. im on the countdown myself less than 30 days to go.

  • Ok lol. The ad before this vid was too funny lol.

  • @potterylady1 I hate that =/

  • Thank you for this video, I really needed this. I know now im not the only one who doesnt rock the twa after the bc.

  • Transitioning was really easy for me being that i kept in kinky twist the whole time. Now i love my 100% natural hair!

  • Yay! Candi you inspired me to wear my hair natural, its been 25 days and I LOVE IT!! Our hair is so unique and beautiful. Thank you for your videos girl :) Peace & Love

  • Well Done. Excellent advice. Keep the videos coming. :))

  • loved the video it's great for the new transitioners. I will be 1 year into my transition in 4 days.
