@THEJustinSimmons Giddens doesn't have any potential. He got cut by the freaking Knicks after the Celtics cut him and no NBA team even went after him this offseason. He's like 26 years old and all he does well is dunk. He'll never even sniff the NBA again.
Fellow UNM Alum, loved watching him play while I was there. Moved up to Boston for school, only wishin he got some PT. Now that he's traded, just hoping NY or whoever gets him next season gives him a chance to show he has more than just dunking abilities!
@steviedonnelly ok, stop already with that conspiracy BS, lol. The first thing that comes out of y'alls mouth is that "oh, it doesnt even look regulation height". stfu already! damn....he was in the nba, WHY would an nba player have footage posted on the internet of them dunking if it were only 9 feet or even 9'5 tall hoop??? The reason it doesn't look 10 feet is because of the angle. BTW, he was drafted mostly because of his dunking ability so quit with the foolishness.
damn. guess leaving was the right thing. but to New Mexico? then again it worked out him cuz he did his thing out there. Hope he makes to the next level. he's got a lot of talent
When he was being recruited out of HS, his top 2 choices were Kansas and New Mexico. So once he decided to leave Kansas, i don't think it was a tough decision on where he was going. Plus, liek you said, he did his thing and it helped him a lot. But New Mexico is a pretty good team. Danny Granger went there, and now he's one of my favorite players on one of my favorite teams. I hope Giddens goes to one of my favorite teams as well
6'5" is a definite stretch...I stood next to him on campus many times when he was at KU, and he's more like a barefoot 6'3 1/2" (I'm 6'2" barefoot). He seems taller because his wingspan is probably 6'8" or more (he's all arms and legs...tiny midsection and head).
I'm not taking anything away from him, though, because he reportedly has a 44" vert (though I'm sure that's not standing)...other than the fact that he likes to pick fights and get stabbed.
no he won't he can't even dribble plus he used all of his potential up ,so he definently should have went to Oklahoma his draft stock would have rose but instead he played in a weak mountain west conference which derailed his draft status even he knows that he talked to my cuzin aweek ago he wish's he went to oklahoma .now him and tony dandridge are getting ready for the nba draft here in okc too bad he wasted his talent at new mexico.
lol...JR Giddens was a NBA lottery prospect before he got stabbed and released from Kansas. Some drafts still have him late first early second in thier drafts

In NBA 2k10, they only mark Giddens athleticism a C. It's at least an A-.
