wow, its great that americans are startin to play rugby but it'll take decades before they can start to compete against france, argentina, south africa, etc
How terrible is your form, shit this is rugby there is no form. this is good old grassroots rugby.I,ve played rugby from 4 years old love it ,live it ,bleed it.
Everyone who's international talking about how terrible their form is... You have to remember, most of these players probably never touched a rugby before starting to play in college. We all grew up playing football. I played football from the age of 8 to 20. I just started playing rugby when I was 16 (now 20). This is a very underpopulated sport here, so quit talking shit like we've been playing our whole lives.
@gorillahead Man I played in the late 80's for about 4 years, those was the greatest times, miss those times, that town, the rugby fun, I pay for it a little now, knees, back, shoulder, but it was so much fun, it would be nice to see what the old boys from my day are doing, Do you guys keep in touch with any of us old farts? Keep it going man, this is a great sport. Dont listen to the bullshit, they probably dont even know what a scrum is, follow your passion.
It's good seeing you guys enjoying rugby. Where are u situated, because iam going to america for 2 years, and you know how rugby crazy us South Africans are.
Yeah good job, I hear its getting more popular over in the states. Last year we had the Ohio state team come play our first IX team. They did pretty good. Hopefully it will become more popular and that we could come and tour the states sometime.
Nice to see the states getting involved in rugby. People complain bout the quality but this is no different from where develped nations were a couple decades ago. The standard we have doesnt happen overnight plus the eagles seem to have done alright this world cup giving england a run for thier money.
We play in a small division against about five other teams and then we can qualify to move on if we do well enough in our div. Gotta remeber, if your international, rugby is not big at all here and that means that there are not many people that can coach us correctly. But at least we try other sports. i hate to hear all the bullshit that gets talked on our rugby but i don't see any other countries trying our sports. But hey, what do ya do?
Goodluck man, I live in Fayetteville, these other dicks talk shit becuase they're online. Americans will dominate this sport eventually like all the rest.
@gorillahead good on ya brother. big ups from Wellington, New Zealand! im in the same situation here in NZ. born and bred rugby nut but have been playing Football (the only kind of Football) for the last 7 years. And even though i think im pretty good at DT/DE... im not hahahahaha. keep going dude
@gorillahead USA sports are not even that good. Many of them didn't originate on the territory of U.S. The only interesting sport to the world that USA is good at is basketball. Gridiron comes from Rugby, Baseball comes from rounders. Best and the most popular sports come majority from the British.
lol you yanks are still babys in the game did you know that a few of newzelands high schools could beat the american eagels and the eagles are americas best
Hahhaha I stopped the vid as soon as I saw your 9 pick and go and there not being any guards or fullbacks and when I saw your lifters using the shorts to lift haha.
american football requires more explosive strength than rugby, rugby requires more endurance, i played rugby for 16years, rugby is technically a superior, tougher sport, i only quit coz i couldn'nt get up for work on a monday morning anymore.
We used to have an American football team use our rugby club during the summer months in England. They had some big athletic fellas so we persuaded six of them to try their hand at rugby. After just one game playing for the third team they told us to poke it and were more than happy to put their pads back on. They admitted that they thought American football was tougher than rugby until they tried it.
Well you have to remember fellas that those guys have been playing american football there whole life and love it. you can't expect to them be turncoats right away, why don't you head to football practice and put on some pads. I played football in highschool and have played rugby for nine. they are both tough in there own way. I will say rugby does have to take a more all around mental but both are tough....
i agree with you even thou im not a american. foot ball is a great and powerfull game i knew some fottballers who played anyway you cant realy compare the two, they both have advadges and disavadges if u were to but them in a game to vs each other but rember that the toughest rugby is in the sothen hemasphere here in newzeland we do spear tackels to take out key players and we have rugby leage where up to 5 guys can smash u over but then agian i want to try american football
both games be it rugby or football requier good physical and mental performance you need brains and the body to play both games. iv played rugby for 3 years and love it. but id still love to try american football.
yeah ur right, american footballers are great mentally. Its not like they get to stop after every 10seconds of play and chill out. Or sit out half the game. Oh wait it is. American football is for meatballs, with no brains (except the quarterback). You actually get to watch about 20mins, maximum! of actual play. Its toilet
Brilliant. What a great way to come back. I think only retards say "congrats" and as you have seen in my previous prose not once have i used the fore-mentioned word
thats a false statement you sound like an ignorant retard. Why don't you back up your statements with real facts. I bet you couldn't read a defense in football for shit so shut up. I love rugby, but I ve also played football for 7 years. Both sports sports are good but in different ways.
Bore off, i don't even remember writing that shit, it was a year ago, go read through some other videos comments all the way down the page... get a life.
hey bro. I work with your coach in nz. Show no mercy on the paddock and buy them a beer in the clubrooms. Thats what Rugby is all about. The stronger man will always after a punch, laugh in the face of the man that punched him.And ask for another without retaliating because that taKES ONE OF THEIRS OF THE FIELD LEAVING YOU(the more profesional man) to smash a team that is one man down. Thats the idea,Be smart
Tonio31 obviously you are an american and only have experience of your inbred red-neck friends playing rugby. Try coming to scotland where we dont need to be fibre-glass coated to knock 7 shades of shit out of an opponent on the field.
First off brit, I am not an inbred red-neck. Second, I played rugby and Football, and Football is the much harder hitting sport and it's not because if the fucking padding either.
ah yes it is i learnt that wen a american footballer i knew tryed to do one of those american football tackels in rugby and he fucked up his neck and got sent of the feild u cant use youre head to tackel with out a helmet un less ur a samoan
id love tonio to try playin some rugby and get his frail ass out of his pads. All you see in an NFL game is a pile of fat yank bastards jump on each other every 2 minutes
OH yeah football players are soooooooo frail. i mean their only able to kill each other without the pads and I didn't know the overweight only have 4% fat. Judging form the your comment I can safely assume you never an entire football game in your life.
One of the things ive learnt over the years playing rugby is that you cant compare it to anything, athletic build is nothing if you dont know what your doing. lomu was talented because he was amazing at breaking tackels and being freakishly fast for someone that could be a prop. But You cant throw a nfl player on the feild and expect them to know all the techniques and processes that are need to be a good rugby player
Exactly, a good point, Lomu is the best and I'm glad he's having a come back even if it is just in Club rugby. Rugby isn't just grunt but also good balance and predicting/tricking the opposition, aswell as trying to read and psych them out :D
good video. i love anybody who tries to play the game in heaven and that is rugbny union. Ima kiwi and love rugby to bits and i think this video can promote the game. good on ya mates.
True that, plus Rugby is not too big in America. I'm from New Zealand and I lived in america for a year and never heard of or saw a rugby team. So I'm guessing players start playing at a late age where-as here we play from the age of 5.
You yanks haven't got a clue, the teams defence were rubbish!
What kind of self respecting team doesn't come up in a straight line, the lineouts were damn rite embarassing!
Grown men and still lifting at the shorts? c'mon lads ever heard of lifting at six or at the thighs, i play for an under 17s team and we would beat you!
The Aussies. You ever played Rugby? I used to play grid iron, switched to Rugby (union, by the way). I want to our NFL guys to try thir hits without pads, run for 80 minutes with one tiny half time break, and respond to getting raked. See how it ends up.
yeah, I've played rugby for the last 4 years and football for the previous 6. I agree that rugby is a tougher sport. I was mearly saying that Americans aren't used to rugby, as Australians aren't used to American Football. So the skills just aren't there.
point taken, but they do play Rugby League, which is more American Football-ish. Heh we had a kid who just got quit football to join our club, first hit of the game, tried hitting him football style, with his helmet in there, didn't work at all. He was out cold for the better part of an hour. 'twas awesome.
i mean put like ray lewis, brian urlacher, zach thomas guys like that out there, along with some guys like tomlinson, alexander and jamal lewis...guys like that could get good at rugby, their just some of the best athletes in the world
No, you're right. Actually, a lot of famous Grid Iron players have gone on to play Rugby after their NFL careers ended. Anyone can play Rugby, whether or not they would be amazing is a different story. Could Lewis compete with someone like Lomu?
Give us a generation. You guys are always strident in your abuse of the USA. Your unkindliness towards us vis-a-vis (that means "face to face" you eel-eating prick) the rugby thing is no more than meanness. We are the reigning Olympic champions. You and all the others are in for a BIG Surprise this Autumn in France. Long Live rugby football. Whoever plays it.
ok calm down calm down i did mean to offend u my rugby brother i agre with most of what u siad we should give u a genariton of rugby but by then newzeland wil be farhead rugby gets biger and biger over here rugby is all we know thx to rugby i have a life and about the world cup good fucking luck
getting paid lots of money to play american football doesnt mean you have the slightest hope of being on par with the allblacks. thats why im saying you are ignorant, if you know for sure they are some of the best athletes in the US then fine but done make retarded asumptions about world sport.
they would not! most of them would have a coronary trying to play a full game of rugby. not to say they arent talented but the sports are completly different!
Nfl players could not play rugby. Try hitting someone nfl style without pads. Your shoulders would sting. The would have to completely re-learn their tackling technique.
lets see a video of yanks playing rugby! all they do is play football which is dirty at keast rugby civilised ie. we dont take people out when they aint got the ba;
I don't have a poblem with their lifting technique, but their delivery of the ball was pretty shoddy. And yes, their defensive line was pretty terrible. I blame the coach. Our team had that problem, got a new coach and he smacked that stupid idea out of our heads.
Hey bud where's this being played?

nfl players would be amazing at rugby, if they were taught and played a lot, but theres kind of a money issue , nfl'ers make way way more cash

they would not! most of them would have a coronary trying to play a full game of rugby. not to say they arent talented but the sports are completly different!

Nfl players could not play rugby. Try hitting someone nfl style without pads. Your shoulders would sting. The would have to completely re-learn their tackling technique.

I don't have a poblem with their lifting technique, but their delivery of the ball was pretty shoddy. And yes, their defensive line was pretty terrible. I blame the coach. Our team had that problem, got a new coach and he smacked that stupid idea out of our heads.
