In my tens yrs fixing and playing basses I have found a great bassist can make a 100.00$ bass sound like a 1000.00$ bass, this is a good basic idea of the differences of tones but like I tell my customers sit and play each of them them for yourself on the same amp,strings...ETC. Thats the best way to decide what bass is for YOU,a 100.00$ bass in the hands of a pro WILL NOT sound the same in the hands of a beginner, thats one statement that cannot be argued.
@Azaan1016 Don't know what you're hearing. Are you sure you're listening with your ears and not your brain? I know a lot of people refuse to believe an inexpensive instrument can sound as good as an expensive one.
Very nice comparison, I just purchased my daughter a SX JR P copy package and was concerned the tonality would be very low quality. I see for the money or should I say "hear" the SX sounds pretty tight ! I like the 72' full sound but the SX is amazing --- is this the $139.00 model ? I might be playing the JR over my expressionist haha !
actually for me both basses sound good. but the problem is that the comparison of these basses would be a little bit different because the sx is newer than the fender used (given if the both these bass had an upgrade or something) thats only my opinion. i both have a fender and sx. well sx basses are good for the money. as long as the buyers know how to choose and what to expect with the brand. of course some sx will have some flaws that you would only notice after some time maybe :)
IMHO the SX sounded better, especially with the Aero pups. The Jbass sounds plastic and slightly shallow, a tonal quality I really hate about fender Jbass thats in my Jbass too, but the Fender sounds mysteriously better for slap. As if it has more little tones and details than the SX.
I agree totally. I've got two SX basses and they are really nice guitars. After some new strings, wiring and new pups they'll stand up to anything under $1000.
SX basses all the way bro those basses have some Fenders and Squiers gropies goes nut against them LOL thanks for sharing it great video and again SX sounds more fat and natural
this is bullshit, i tried my mates sx bass, its one of the cheapest most uncomfortable things i've played in a while, the squire p bass is miles better than the sx equivalent.
@lawrence096 It probably needs a setup. They occasionally arrive in dire need of one, and you do get the occasional lemon (in which case you can get a replacement or full refund easily). I have bought several instruments from Rondo, and particularly love their basses. I returned one guitar because it had flaws in the paint, and the process was super easy and I'm not out a dime. I'll buy from them again, even though I can afford a Fender (but not until SX changes their current headstock shape).
I have 2 SX basses a PJ combo and a P-bass I have EMG Pups in the PJ and Dimarzio Pups in the P bass. But what inpressed me about the SX bass is how well they are make the neck joint is strong with no gaps the finish is perfect and the weight is very comfortable. I play them more then my more expensive G&L tribute bass...
Dang, they both sound good. The SX is no slouch! It's better, but an unfair comparison, since both basses have different pickups and bridges. By the way, killer playing and killer designed grooves and variety. Great Job!

I think they sound different, but I don't believe that one sounds better than the other.
Cool video.

Is the whole world going chise? So it seems. Good playing man, you really cook. Are you from the Makossa country?

buen trabajo. Para mí el mejor sonido me lo da el fender, pero el SX suena muy muy bien.
