I think the reason the other one won was because it accurately replicated elements from the trailer. The contest was for footage that was supposed to fool someone into thinking it was from the film. The best way to do that would be to incorporate elements from known materials related to the film, such as the look of the font on the saucer and the pirated photos of the shuttles, and the general look of the trailer's cinematography.
This one is great though. The sound really sells it.
