There truly is nothing more fascinating than the universe, its vastness is unimaginably far beyond comprehension. I know we have immensely powerfull telescopes able to peer millions of lightyears into the dark abyss scouring countless stars and galaxies, but with all our impressive theories and technology I still can't believe there can be an end to its size. I believe it to infinitely vast, and therefore have infinite possibilities for life. Quite simply put, to believe we are alone is insane.
I believe that we are part of some infinite pattern...cyclicle in every way..from the very atoms that make up our being to our limited knowlege of what the "clouds of galaxies" make up...we are part of it...it's a lonely feeling.. maybe, but we are a part of something..and our bond?...frequency......
when we die..our bodies don't work..they become the earth...but our minds.. are infinite....I think there is something there we cannot understand with our 5 senses...but we are trying :)
oh and the likelihood of me or anyone else meeting an alien.......unlikely!! If you believe that we exist out of some sort of evolutionary chemical reaction...then that ideology would make alot of sense..but if you believe that we were created by God in his image and likeness....then i don't see why he would create any 7foot tall bodied 3 foot wide brain that looks like something from a cartoon novel. Admitedly it is lonely to think we are only here by ourselves....I may be wrong of course.
And if it is expanding...how fast? I think it's safe to say...humans will never reach the end of the universe in a rocket ship..by the time they got to the end...if that was even possible over millions and billions or years .....the universe would have probably doubled in size at that stage.

Its impossible to really comprehend just how tiny we are, and how huge the universe and beyond is. what i dont understand is how scientists know what they know...how can they know it goes on and on if they cant get there or see it?
Thats why NASA put 76 types of language into one of the voyager space probes along with pictures of earth and prove, that we exist on a planet called Earth.
In order to communicate with us, an alien life form would need intelligence AND the alien equivalent of an opposable thumb. Sperm Whales actuarially have larger brains than us, so maybe that could understand how to build a radio or space ship, but they couldn't actually do it without the all important opposable thumb.
Another problem is how to communicate with alien life. We like to listen to whale song, but we can't understand what they're saying, and we're from the same planet!
