Laws against same-sex marriage rights for one. Fortunately though, his motion to put such a law in place was struck down fairly quickly. As far as Obama goes, we'll see what happens and that will be the judge of what works. I'm also quite aware that Obama doesn't support same-sex marriage, but he does support the same equal rights to what straight couples have in a marriage to same-sex couples should have in a civil union.
