Unicron was a badman, Ultra Magnus was a wasteman, Hot Rod was a numpty for getting Prime killed. When they killed of Megatron in the 1st 'Bay' film I thought they were going to resurect Galvatron - would have cool if they did

It sucks that I haven't been able to track down the absolutely awesome soundtrack of this movie yet. It gave me goosebumps as a kid, and hearing it now (or every time I put on the movie at home), it makes me want to go out and ick Decepticon backside.

As great as this movie was it frankly did start the downfall of Transformers. This movie killed off a lot of memorable characters(almost all of them) that the next season didn't really work well. Granted, Optimus does come back to life in one episode but dies again, and Starscream returns as a ghost and starred in various spin-off comics and mangas. But how can you continue a story that ended with such good closure and most of the memorable characters are dead?

@Creaturelover18 I didn't realize Welker was Soundwave, he sounds so different in the new movies, though I suspect that's largely because they didn't use the original filter. Now, and not to bash Hugo Weaving, if only he'd been Megatron as well. That said, James Earl Jones is probably as good as we can get for Unicron, but I've always thought of him as the strong, noble patriarch, not as the over-bearing destroyer-god. But, hey, I'd be willing to give it a shot.
