Its so nice to hear Emmons on the Hermann Lammers Meyers recordings in US from 2010. He is as good as always, but now he only play for Hermann I think, a German country singer.
Reggie Young on guitar. Tompall had Mel Brown (Booby Bland) on guitar for a while. I see he's wearing the hat and shades that he wore on the album cover. Mel died recently- great blues man.
From what I have heard, the brothers broke up several times and apparently the last time, it was for good. One was in an accident, in a wheel chair and am not sure if he is still living. Jim Glaser still sings and Tompall is just out there somewhere. Pretty sad for all of us CW fans that they disappeared on us.
@JohnMichael213 Wow--how's he doing? Someone else told me he was ill. Curious about his recent history, if he has performed much (at all) in recent years.
Yeah he is ill. He has been bed ridden for a while now. but i think he has been doing better then what was expected (but i don't think its very good). but i haven't heard anything bad so i suspect he is still trekking.
Glad to know he is alive and hopefully happily retired. I wish he knew how many fans he still has--or maybe he does know and is happy with that knowledge--or he's happy to be out of it. He and Waylon sure caroused up a storm at Hillbilly Central.
Are you familiar with the Brothers Glaser, his nephews. Wow, I just listened to them for the first time and they definitely have the Tompall and Glaser Brothers sound.
@pedalman You cant put Emmons and Mooney up against each other, theyr both great in theyr own way.Nobody cant beat Buddy on the Advanced stuff offcourse.
I guess it is all a point of view and I can't honestly say I'm the best one to judge since I never heard of Buddy until these vids. Glad to know about him. Is he still playing here on this earth?
where are these guys there great

What a great band Tompall had that time. Had the big luck to see them in Gothenburg and was so surprised that Buddy and Reggie played with him.

Looks like Reggie Jackson playing guitar...one of Waylon's long time sidemen and one of the best guitarists in Nashville

Once again, Buddy proves he's one of the best to ever play the pedal steel!

Buddy really is great on the pedal...like Waylon's steel guitar man, Ralph Moonie.
sandladyvb 2 years ago
A slight understatement I believe "Buddy really is great on the pedal" Mmmmm?
Ralph mooney had a unique style but Buddy is light years ahead .He actually could be the greatest pedal steel player in the universe !!
