did tua do 1 sit up in preparation for this fight? lol..... 245 pounds and hes only 5'10! fuck he was a tank.... his feet were too slow to get on the inside of lewis.... tyson was slightly taller but had the fast feet to get in range of his opponents.. even tho this was an awful fight for tua, we all still love him down here in new zealand. TUA!
Lennox was a vastly underapreciated fighter, no one came close.Lewis was the supreme king of the 90's as far as the heavyweight division was concerned, anyone who disagrees is delusional as far as im concerned
@2pacback2014 That is not true. Holmes may have had the best jab in boxing ever (that's what people say anyway) but he, like other fighters who relied heavily on the jab, had trouble when he met someone willing to jab with him. Carl Williams closed his eyes and out-jabbed him for instance.
Most critics think Tua would knock Lewis out... Some say Lewis would win by UD, but they never expect Lewis to outclass Tua, and this is definitely the black mark in Tua's career.
"...you got to come up with more than a power left hook to beat Lennox Lewis, thats why I said; when you're going to war with Lennox Lewis, you got to bring your whole arsenal. Not just a left hook and a haircut."
@anUntouchable I actually thought Tua was going to demolish Lewis beforehand. Definitely not one of my most astute moments when it comes to predicting the outcome of a fight. lol
@LMLR187 Not sure who would win but if Holmes won, he would praise Lewis for his qualities. If Holmes lost, 20 or 30 years later, Holmes would still be saying that Lewis is useless and can't fight for Toffee.
@LMLR187 - not only Michael Spinks but also Evander Holyfield - he 'wasn't nothing' - and Mike Tyson who would, apparently, have been a good sparring partner in the 70s.

i love foreman as a man and as a fighter but he is a god awful commentator, he seems to think that any relatively short heavyweight is mike tyson

I was a lil kid back then watching this fight..
And still to this day, Tua had one of the sickest intros ever.
