should i feel the same type of fatigue as i do when i am doing bench or push ups? because when i do this i feel it further up on the arm and it feels very sharp, i guess i could describe it that way... and when i do other tricep exercises it slowly gets harder until it feels like my arm weighs a thousand pounds... is that good or bad?
@emmabee11 They will help the muscle to be more toned when you have removed the fat and be a bit bigger (but not much bigger if you are female) but they will not burn any arm fat.
Spot fat removal does not exist, the only way to remove under arm flab is to reduce your body fat as a whole with a cardio program and diet.
This exercise is useless, it doesn't overload the muscle for added growth. Your better off doing heavy close grips, overhead ext, or tricep push down machine.

If your muscle is failing, it's being worked. You can do more weight on close grips because you're incorporating both triceps, front delts, inner pecs, and a bit of lats. If you're going 8 to failure, your triceps are getting just as much work.

Raw basic lifts such as close grips, over head extensions, 1 arm extensions will definitely make your triceps grow over this exercise i guarantee it. And yes your right, your muscles don't know the weight your using, but you do so therefore you have to progressively and constantly add weight week to week.

@lokrenzo , u cant really say. a good weight is when u can do a decent amount of reps and u can feel the burn. i say try a weight u can do 6-8 reps with but make sure u cant do them easily otherwise its too less of a weight. i think u know what i mean.
I'd recommend having the opposit knee on the bench for better balance. Very usefull if you use alot of weight, which you eventually will do.
By the way I would love to hear the reason why you shouldn't stretch your elbow? Usually you dont strech because you can get injurred, but with this exercise, there is no pressure on your elbow.
Don't like that he bend his wrist. Should't it be locked so you don't damage it? (Know it's not hevy weights, but however)

don't you have to extend your arm entirely so you can fully extend (contract) your triceps for better results when doing kickbacks on a bench
