This situation is out of control. Why the difference between our spouse 62.5%, Public Servant 68.5% and the politician a massive 83.3%. Why the very poor treatment of our spouses who look after us, raise the kids whilst we are on operation or training, move house every two years when we get posted which means changing and making new friends. It is no wonder that we have a military family and a civvy family. The Military due to constant moving does not have a chance to make too many civvy friends
For those senior officers (and public servants) still serving, I hope you will similarly feel outraged at these obvious disparities and discrimination.
What are you going to do about it? Wait for the Government to act? Fat chance!Wait until your demise and let your spouse find out the hard way?
Why not stand up and be counted? Your spouse and family are far more important than your next promotion!
