That ISNT particually small.

Look into compressor housing sizes etetc and spall up times for bigger turbos... ever heard of lag... size and weight of turbine blades is the cause of lag. This is the generic size for most turbo diesel cars [2 litre's for example]

Also, cars are more usuable in the lower rev ranges with a smaller turbo, better for driving around town. Only downside is they tail off abit early.

The reason it is blowing so much smoke is because the turbo is filling up with oil and leaking into the turbine housing and the oil is burning. You need to mount the turbo higher and run the oil return line directly down and into the crankcase so gravity forces the oil to flow back into the crankcase instead of just building up inside the turbo. As the oil return hose is setup now the oil needs to fill up that bottom part of the hose until it gets over the high point.

wrong. the reason it is difficult (but still very possible) to turbo a 2 stroke is because the only force pushing the exaust out of the engine is the fresh air/fuel mixture flowing into the cylinder. if you add back pressure (the turbo) you hinder the incoming fuel/air. in order to solve this, you port the engine and have the turbo behind the expansion chamber, as the chamber will do its job in reducing port back pressure even though the overall air pressure throughout the engine is above atmos.

@irishman922 a turbo does not decrease the pressure at the exaust port. it increases it. think of a hydroelectric dam. they take water from a resevoir (gravity raises the pressure) and let the water flow downhill through the turbine. the water forces the turbine to spin. same thing with a turbo, only instead of water, its exaust. the turbine is used to drive a compressor, forcing more air into the engine.

but, at the same time, a properly tuned expansion chamber timed so that when the port is first opened, it can have a 7 psi vaccume, BUT when the pressure wave is bounced back through the expansion chamber, the cylinder should be evacuated and filled with fresh air/fuel. the pressure wave is then used to keep the fuel/air mixture inside the cylinder as the port is being closed (as the piston moves up, it will compress the gasses because of the pressure wave, but the port will still be open.)
