I heard bleaching hurts, but I never had to use a lot because I'm naturally dark blonde. (I dye it to light blonde) The worst story I've heard is a friend of mine bleached her black hair, so she had to use a LOT. It burned her scalp SO BAD! She was crying but she did it anyway :P Does it really hurt that bad? I'm afraid to get it a color like pink or dark now, because I'd want to go back after a while.

The hairdresser should have used on the scalp bleach, it doesn't burn. Trust me on that. :) That or she used to high of a volume with it. Which depends on how course your hair is. :) Either way I love it and now miss my blonde. =/ ♥

Sometimes it heps to let your hair go REALLY greasy and dont wash it for as long as possible because the natural oils that your hair produces will help protect your scalp and lets you obsorb colour better.

Next time you should try using 'Live Colour Blonde Absolute Platinum' as it gives that same colour with out having to bleach it and damage it :)

A bleach bath is actually just salon shampoo mixed with bleach at about half of each ratio :)

If I have black box-dyed hair, would using the purple shampoo over and over again eventually lighten it enough that I can get it to blonde without damaging it too much? My hair is already pretty bad and my hairdresser said that by bleaching it now, it'd destroy my hair and she refuses to do it. So if I use the purple shampoo, can I eventually go blonde SAFELY?

thats a bad hair dresser, the bleach isnt meant to touch your scalp. A girl i know went to a hairdresser who did that and now she can't go into the sun for a year because her scalp has been chemically burnt by the bleach

I went platinum blonde too and I feel your pain!

when my hair dresser bleached my hair it didn't really burn until she put me under the the vapor thing I don't know what its called but my scalp was on fire!

I sat under there for over 45 minutes and she finally came back and washed the bleach out and my head was swollen. I couldn't feel it at all. Thank god the toner only took like 5 minutes!

Platinum really suits you Shona! Oh yes, I know how the hair feels afterwards, luckily you didn't have to go from black. My stylist was pretty careful not to apply the bleach to my scalp so I didn't feel a burn. If I can give you one tip...don't wait too long to touch your roots up (the older the hair, the harder it is to bleach), that was my mistake and my hair started to break off.
