  • Beatles-great mistake.

  • little willie littlefield did it 1st but it was a favourite of many from 1959 onwards, like the Beatles version best as closer to my generation :)

  • After this monumental song I'am sure that Ksnsas City id forever cool.

  • Now why would the Beatles sing about kc?? I'm from there and i didn't realize it was ever cool enough XD

  • @AdriannaLight kansas citys the home of blues music 18 and vine its pretty cool

  • 10 people are from st louis

  • someone said they sang live over pre-recorded instruments. i think they played and sang live. listen to george's somewhat crude guitar solo. a great performance at their peak!

  • Not a look with the camera to Ringo Starr

  • Sinceramente Lo Mejor Que le pudo Haber Pasado a la Historia, Haber tenido El Placer q los Beatles Compartieran Su sinfonía celestial con nosotros!! Lennon en la Muerte t Recordare.

  • Except for the title and the words "I'm goin to Kansas City 'this has nothing in common with the original Lieber and Stoller song . . . .but I bet they still take all the credit, and royalties.

  • I live in overland park but that kinda part of kansas city

  • Hey! That's neat! That's where I live! I didn't know ol' KC was legit enough for The Beatles to sing about. How cool!

  • Ugh, i hate beatlemania girls.

  • i was smiling the WHOLE time....they are incredible :)

  • Well, I've got you beat -- I've lived in Kansas City for over 50 years! State Line Rd. divides K.C. (MO) from Johnson County for part of its length, but also divides K.C. (MO) from Wyandotte County in its northern stretch. Apparently you've never driven on State Line north of 47th St (which separates Johnson and Wyandotte counties) or driven down Southwest Blvd. as it crosses the state line. The Kansas River is entirely within Kansas -- the state line is east of the river. Check any map!

  • @togglify Two different ones. The one in Mo. is 3 or so times bigger than the one in KS.

  • @salutetheflag.....Right on .That was Ed Sullivan Show ,Feburary 9 1964 .

....The only reason I know the date is because I just read it in The Peoples Almanac ,20 th Century .

....I do rember seeing it .

  • @TheWalrusette Lol it's just weird (I can't hear it anymore) But I remember he like sang over his echo, it was awesome :P

  • Dude, Paul hits a note that echoes @ 0:57 :S

  • Saw them in Kansas City in '64 and again in LA in '66. Awesome!

  • I remember actually seeing that on t.v -- John doesnt look into it -- and those screaming teeny boppers sure did drown out the group.

  • 2PERROORION19 .....WOW,WHAT YOU SAID ....I MEAN WOW ...LIKE I JUST GOT TO GO TO BED .

  • im no girl and ive seen paul live and yes i too screamed, them seagulls!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GOD! GEORGE LOOKS SO HOT IN THIS VIDEO!!!

  • I haven't stopped screaming since 1964......PAULIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Paul never looks at his bass once until the final stroke, Total command

  • @driteon Paul didn't need to look, because on Shindig they used live vocals over prerecorded instrumentals. Check out John Lennon's facial expressions, he hated this style of performing, he thought it was phony.

  • @driteon He's a musician. He knows what's happening. Art Tatum, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles...The best piano tuners in the world can't see the keys. Fauré had a......forget it.

Nice post but I hope you are not that naive...just because Paul doesn't "look at his bass..." Keep practicing and happy viewing.

  • 1:56 wooo, so long ! I love Paul :D

  • gatta love how george looks like hes not even trying

  • Lol, the girls are strictly there for John, Paul, and George. No love for Ringo. :P

  • Georgie's so cute during his guitar solo :D

  • Just great.

  • ahhhhh!!! i love pauls lil screams at 1:07 and 2:10 ! :) I just lovee this song all together though!!!

  • I love the beatles!

  • GOOD QUITAR SOLO !!! :)

  • awww Paul's cute little yell at 2:10 <3

  • During the call-response part there is a third voice in the chorus, must be from the off. Never noticed that before.

  • There are actually two Kansas Cities -- one in Missouri and one in Kansas. The bigger one is in Missouri. The two cities adjoin each other. For the most part the boundary between the two states runs down the middle of a street (State Line Road) and you hardly notice when you cross from one to another. For most practical purpose, it's just one big city, but there are two mayors, two city governments, etc.

  • @trilingual1946 My wife, who is from Marshall, MO explained to me that when folks talk about Kansas City they are almost always talking about Kansas City, Missouri. Me, being a So/Cal boy, naturally thought that "the" Kansas City was in Kansas. By the way, there is one of the best blues bands around based in K. C. They're called, "Trampled Under Foot" a family band consisting of two brothers and a sister who is the best female blues singer I've ever heard.

  • @freddiemesquit1 OH CRAP, so did I!!

  • @trilingual1946 KCMO has almost 480,000 people, whereas KCK has about 150,000. The two cities don't actually touch, they're separated by the Mo. and Ks. rivers. The parts that touch are KCMO and Johnson County, which is made up of a bunch of suburban cities. And the metro is far from one big city, both sides of the stateline pretty much hate each other and never ever cooperate. The area as a whole suffers from it a lot. A good place with a ton of wasted potential.

  • @seriousguynogames3 The two Kansas Cities do adjoin each other, and are separated only by a street, and in some places not even that! Just visit the Univ. of Kansas Medical Center, which is crammed up against State Line Rd. at 39th Street. Or drive down Southwest Blvd. where the state line is invisible. It's true that the two halves of the metro area don't always cooperate very well, but that's not always the case. Visitors will just have to come and see for themselves! It's a nice city!

  • @trilingual1946 What are you talking about? I live in Kansas City (have all 20 years of my life) and go to school at UMKC. Stateline separates Jackson County, Mo. and Johnson County, Ks, which is comprised of cities like Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, Lenexa, etc. Kansas City, Ks. is in Wyandotte County and the downtown KCK is where the Kansas and Missouri rivers meet, pretty much. I do agree though, it's a lovely city, very underrated.

  • Goodbye Kansas City. New York City here I come.

Well Kaitlyn, I Hope you had a good reason. One things for sure, you won't find any barbecue here like you had there.

  • @togglify Kansas City spreads over kansas and missouri.

  • 0:44 <3 <3

  • I think this is one off Paul's best vocal performances! You could kind of tell he wanted those fans to shut up and listen to his stunning pipes do some magic!

  • 00:29 is just epic.

  • george=best guitarist ever

  • Paul+John+George+Ringo=Perfection!

  • around the 28 second point, Paul looks surprised with the Fans :)

  • I just got home from Kansas City last night. I live in New York city, Kansas City is much nicer. Beautiful, clean, not crowded, nice people, and fantastic barbeque! Hey, pretty much everything NYC is not! Jack Stacks BBQ was the best I've had! This Beatle clip was great. Never seen this one. Good quality! Thanks for posting it.

  • @seattwa I'm from kansas city and I just moved to new york city. weird coincidence!

  • kansas city is a beautiful city with a great music scene. i love living here, people complain about where they live no matter where it is but this is probably one of the most interesting cities with a lot of diversity. the plaza, union station, worlds of fun, power and light, westport, the crossroads, the nelson atkins art museum, the world war 1 museum, the lincoln memorial, american royal, awesome bbq, hallmark, of course all the beautiful mountains and much more. I love my city.

  • @barbie73dollface i mean fountains lol not mountains

  • what ever it is its still part of america we need to pray for them

  • @DKWegley wow dude you got lots of hate in you

  • Paulgasm. Nuff said.

  • Maybe I shouldn't be ashamed to live in Kansas City...

  • paul is more awesome than french toast...O_o

  • Paul is so cute!

  • The original version is by Wilbert Harrison (1959).

  • @emmettk Sorry man, Little Willie Littlefield wrote this song and called it "K.C. Loving" back then..

  • @Mohawhaw Thanks for the heads-up. The funny thing is my main reason for posting is that so many Beatles fans think everything they sing was originated by them. Harrison's version was the best known and I'm part of a large group of people who weren't aware the song was 7 years old when Harrison recorded it. My apologies to Little Willie Littlefield.

  • You hardly see ringo!! George must've seen a pretty girl in the crowd/mob scene.

  • Aw come on, I know the beatles r legends but the audience should respect their music, I know if I had that opportunity I wouldn't ruin it by screaming! :)

  • he looks like a chipmunk!!

  • Superbe. Merci.

  • i live 2 hrs. from there

  • jesus it sounds like its a murder scene

  • As much as I would love to scream my brains out for the Beatles, and I don't blame the girls; but is there ever a video of them where you can even hear them?! Damn.

  • The biebers.

  • why isnt ringo hitting the cymbal?

  • They play this song at the "K" when the Royals win

  • @zatchHBK85 That's probably why it seems so unfamiliar to me. ZING!

  • wow they r soo amazing i love the beatles

  • I am saddened that they were pimped out this much I love the beatles but the more I look into them they were nothing more then a music companies pawn which is sad because they did write good songs

  • @rdosdaydos , Kansas City was written by Lieber and Stoller

  • @moroc333 Paul Mcartney and Ringo Starr are both still living and are around 70 years old, John Lennon was killed in 1980 and George Harrison died of cancer in 2001.

  • OMG <3

  • Wonderful live performance. We had 'Beatles for Sale' album in the house. Guess my Dad bought it...

  • one of thoese great moments you can never forget is what this is to me. I seen it live 1964. every kid at school talked about it would be on that night then next day hashed it out and spoke of noting else. heady days heady times. should have been there.

  • First song done by this group that I liked... :) About as good as Fats......

  • was he making the words up?

  • I <3 KC

  • Screaming hormonal girlies. They can't help it. Brains don't work when the hormones kick in. but hey, they enjoyed their night back then and they, their daughters and grand daughters have probably done it many times since.

  • Oh yeah "Beatles For Sale" great album

  • i hate most of the live-songs

not because the music is bad no no but because the fucking audience is so damn loud i can´t hear a single word !

  • stupid screaming girls were just as annoying back then as they are now.

  • I think it's the first time I see

john sharin' the mike with george

  • @worldcitizenforever 1) it was the style back then to have long hair (which they started -- it's still strong today)

  • It wasn't him - I saw the gig in Dublin a few days before, great performance but it wasn't Paul McCartney. Heather Mills was threatening to out him but can't.

  • ok if you say so it must be true thanks for clearing that up for me btw who is that guy on long island that looks like him

  • You're welcome, I'm delighted I could clear that up for you and highlight something that was in front of your face only you couldn't see it.

  • @howardg2 Ringo too :)

  • @howardg2 no duh

  • This is a great example of Paul's incredible showmanship. John and George were never as fun to watch perform as Paul and Ringo.

  • bellissima canzone
