Music used to be "Ballad of a Runaway Horse" by Emmylou Harris but Warner Music Group filed a complaint and I didn't have time to fight it so I found this nice song( I probably should change the description)
Thanks, arkgunslinger, for referring us to utuber423's video. Too bad yours got silenced, your video looks like it went really nice with the song. F@*k WMG.
arkgunslinger you have hit the point , I for one would have never heard of this song if not for Youtube .....now I have bought the CD.. more money for Warner MG...time for the big companies to loosen up a little ? .. and your video was great !
cthulee, It was Warner Music Group that forced me to remove the audio.
Perhaps the other recordings were not copyrighted by WMG.
WMG only hurt themselves when they forced me to nmute this song becuase people were sending me messages telling me that after they watched this video they went out and bought the CD.
I think you have a point. One thing is that people don't get to know songs which they could otherwise hear here. And another point is that there are such staunch people of principle like me ;))) who will not buy from companies which demand that audio should be removed. As a matter of principle. WMG demanded even that music be removed from Navka/Kostomarov olympic free dance (it was Michael Jackson medley).
I miss this song too! Sad it is...boy do I know how sad! I was given this song to listen to (for the first time) just after my dear old gelding passed away. I was only 12 or 13 at the time and he was my BEST friend; so devoted and protective, as some of the best geldings can be. Man, did I CRY hearing this song for the first time...cried me some RIVERS! Memorized it and still know every lyric. Don't hear it on the radio EVER, so I sing it to myself in the truck while driving sometimes.
coyote094, it's available for individual download purchase at any of the major music download sites i.e. Amazon, ITunes, Rhapsody etc. It's on the "Cowgirl's Prayer" CD.
This is one of my favorite songs by Emmylou. The first time I heard it was in Jackson Hole Wy. after riding horses through the Grand Tetons. I cried. I had a horse just like this one. I love to perform this song on harmonica with my guitar playing, singing best friend.
thanks for posting this superb leonard cohen's song with a magistral interpretation by emilou harris-" and there is no space but there is left and right and there is no time but there is day and night"thanks leonard for these precious words
I love her pure voice, I once had a friend (deceased now) that adored her, he had every single album she recorded. Had his wall covered with her pictures, would travel miles to see her in concert. Thanks for sharing these memories, takes me back to the late 70's.
hyarkgunslinger! just discovered this song and i love it! she sings so beautiful and i just love her voice! I also happen to love horses, and i love yur video~!
Great job, I think this is great, it is wonderful to see what images a person sees when they hear a song. I see my childhood and the all memories of our horses and their wonderful beauty and intelligence. TY
Tommigril, thanks, of course I was never able to make the video exactly the way I wanted but, I was able to get the song on YT for people to enjoy and hopefully introduce some people to Emmylou.
thanks for notice me amandalee7747, indeed this is beautiful song and I understand your feeling about your horse.. thanks arkgunslinger for posting this.
amandalee7747, sorry for your loss, I 've never owned a horse of my own but I love horses and love riding when I have a chance(though it's been a long time).
Don't. as much as a love and part of my entire my life horses and riding has been, I don't think I could handle a loss like that again. I lost my job over it even, I coulsn;t fuction for weeks. Plus, I was no rich kid, we got a 2nd mortgage for him, lol. The pain of loss can;t outweight the pleasure, I never expected it would be so.
Oh, and same with my dogs; and for unfeeling, heartless morons who say "get over it; they're just animals" they know NOTHING. My horse died of cancer. He had a "beer tap" in his side draining fluid off his heart but you'd never have known he was dying, he didn't want ME to be sad, he waited for me till I could "take it" - which was never, but as sick as he was he never wanted to show me-even in his ICU stall; the same biting, nuzzzling, pushing, THX for this -sniff :()
amandalee7747, I've always had pets. Mostly dogs and most of them lived a long time so that they were a part of the famiy. I still miss our last old timer a 15 yr old chihuahua who would sleep in my lap if i was sitting down or in our bed during the night. 4 yrs since he died and I still catch myself looking for him to come jump up my chair.
Well anyway, thanks again, When this song came out my horse was fine, but I still sat there gaping mouthed like it was written for us and cried like a baby, plus Emmy's got the voice of a damn angel. I played it for my ex and he was even bawling. I'm glad you've had luck with your animals, they are our angels. I breed JRT's too, and DREAD the day...
Do you know the "horses Prayer"? OMG - talk about crying. Yt prolly wouldnt let me fit the whole post here but if you dont mind, I have to mail you it....

i uploaded a video response here.
My video was disabled by youtube because of the copyright on EmmyLou Harris' Ballad of a Runaway Horse.
But i disputed it, due to the fact use of this song falls under "fair use" act, and they reinstated it.

A great song sang by Emmylou. Can you tell me where you made the video? Brilliant!!
reddirtgirl55 3 years ago
reddirtgirl55, The stills and video are from various public domain sources. I just threw in a few special effects like slow motion and fades etc.
I have a new video editor and lots of my own video and stills but haven't had time to create any new videos lately, hopefully soon.
