I use WinBubble to increase my Perfomance SPEED, there's a guy who made a youtube video. there are many options. Disabling multiple monitor configuration(3-7sec), lessen shutdown time(15 sec),Increase bandwidth for internet and some tweaks like MOVE TO or COPY TO, TURN OFF MONITOR and many many more. Also, If you have some commands/Reg Tweaks, you can create a One-Click Button For That.I'll say it's amazing and I recommend it.

I thought that a intel core 2 duo processor is only 1 processor with 2 cores.. so I dont see the point of enableing 2 processors, when you only have 1.. I also have a performance monitor (I think its called Multi Meter(D) wich you can have on your sidepanel on vista, and check that both cores are working) the Multi Meter shows the cpu usage in both core 1 and 2, so with only 1 processor enabled both cores are still working.

This trick was available in some form on XP as well. The thing with msconfig is, it helps boot up, and yes clear the amount of programs you are running. But it isn't a solid tweak. After you install some new programs, you'll have to do it again. Nice information, but up to 50% is saying a bit much.
