  • lukla at the top wowowo

  • Do many of these countries even have Aviation authorities to give standards as to how to build runways? There is San Diego airport on the list?

These runways might be good for take-off, but are very dangerous for landing.

    Ugh!!

  • 6:19 oh HELL no! I'll WALK, thanks.

  • for those who are posting comments about runway of Madeira Airport, please read a bit more before making any unneeded comment.

Madeira island due to its montainous topography and turbulent winds doesn't lead any other option where to build the runway than extending it out into the ocean.

the runway was lengthened (1600—2700m) after an aircraft overran the runway.

Needless to say this runway won an IABSE Outstanding Structure Award.

  • am i the only one watching this to listen to the music?

  • 5:30 wahaha

  • 1:09 that runway could collapse any minute!

  • I think airports don't hurt anyone but the runways...

  • 1. How I came across this video is beyond me and 2. Why did I watch so much of it? My brain hurts.

  • omg 3:15 ??????????????

  • i wonder what the builders of these airports were thinking about

  • I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO :D im a couple miles away from that airport and i always love watching the planes go to land:), oh and by the way for number 7. why did you build a runway there?!

  • I LIVE IN SAN DIEGO :D im a couple miles away from that airport and i always love watching the planes go to land:)

  • Airport of Madeira its good :p

  • scary

  • i can agree with the one at 1.00

  • That's great! I'm off to a flight simulator in a few days and I've had trouble picking an airport to land on. Was gonna choose Bundaberg (it's a 737 sim and B'berg airport has just been upgraded, but is still a bit hard for jets to land on). Now, however, I've got a few other ideas. Thanks for sharing this.

  • SUBBSCRIBED :)

  • I'd far rather fly number 1 than number 2. In the highlands of Papua New Guinea, I never felt the steep one ways were a problem so long as you were almost paranoid about establishing precisely the right aim point and airspeed on approach ie MORE than into a flat strip...NOT less so you could transition from descent to climb during the flare. The guys in the Otter probably had pwr on in order to be able to roll out full length. The bananas with terrain critical approaches are the ones to watch.

  • The songs are all in the description...... read people

  • i remember my flight to Iceland about a year back as we approached the airport there was some turbulence and the pilot didn't slow down enough so we landed and the plane shook and made the biggest bang ever and the went quickly down the runway shaking loads, ive been on alot of flights and never experienced anything like it before, i was laughing with my mates but the woman behind us burst into tears

  • now i feel like travelling :(

  • Whoa @4:48...

  • I DARE Somone to drive a bus past at 4:45

  • I went to maderia and got a hotel at the side of the runway that is not on stilts. Planes flew overhead but it wasn't loud, anyway they will only land on the runway with the stilts if they have the wind blowing down the side of the cliff making a horrible crosswind. And even if they land facing the stilts they never reach it because all of the planes they land there are actually pretty small. No large 747's or anything. Although they did have some military mini-C130 style plane.

  • Song...muahhh... meet the girls of Norway - okay this saturday, I will

  • I would imagine that in severe weather conditions they don't allow any landing at these airports... (?)

  • Ive landed at the Madeira airport, it's really scary!

  • Cool Channel!

  • #1 best airport in the world was HONG KONG Kai Tak airport. Sadly, no more Pilot's dream. It's close.

  • lol at 5.26

  • lol at 5.26

  • I don't think Nepal (Lukla) airport is the top most dangerous.. airport in the world, i used to visit around 10 -12 times per year over there

  • San Diego is only dangerous because of buildings on the approack pattern, Maderia isn't dangerous at all if your a half decent pilot, and Eagle Vail isnt dangerous at all! It's a straight in approach and a straight out departure!

  • Gibraltar is probably the third most dangerous because it had a road through it. St. Maarten and Lukla are more dangerous.

  • kai tak is closed

  • @robertsasyannick why is it closed? Is it because it was too dangerous??? (sorry, I'm an airport noob) :)

  • 603 peoples is from the airports

  • 0:02 San Diego

    0:49 Maderia

    1:33 Eagle Vail

    2:16 Courcheval

    2:50 Kai Tak

    3:42 Gibraltar

    4:54 St. Barthelemy

    5:33 Toncontin Intl.

    6:17 Lukla

  • wow, 3:26 Malaysia Airlines

  • Courchevel has a sketchy runway...but it looks fun

  • The world's most dangerous airport is definitely 'Ground zero' New York city.

  • meet the girls of norway they party like the rockstars on replay!!!!

  • The runway at courchevel looks horrible to land on!

  • @hs121trident123

Courchevel need a "altisurface" qualification for aircrafts, but nothing for ultralights, only a good skill (no errors allowed)...

  • 5.10 what a DICK, such a short runway, touched down 2/3 in and expected to break to taxi speed, haha fool!!! shouldn't have even touched down and aborted landing

  • 6:53 yer man has some balls standing there :L

  • Nice Vid, man. who care juz a somewhat glitch.

  • No. 6 Kai Tak is no longer in service. Hong kong got a new airport like 10 years ago.

  • What about Vagur airport in the Faroe Island in the North Atlantic?. Runway is short, weather is awful, fog most of the time, an plagued with crosswinds and vertical shifts.

The airforce CIC was killed there on his retirement good-bye tour, because the Challenger Jet was flipped upside down during take.off. Commercial planes are very often diverted to Norway, Scotland or back to Copenhagen due to weather conditions being impossible, and landings are often tried 2-3 times.

  • most dangers place in the world

  • #7 Scares the crap outta me!

  • I've had drinks on the Gib runway

  • @4.45

  • OMG san diego is not in dha top 10 its a beautiful city

  • 4:45 good place to made kitesurfing with a boeing.............

  • I have a feeling some of these airport designers were like "TROLOLOLOLOL LOLOLOL LOLOLOL"

  • I'll be sure never ever to go to that cities, its like to be landing on a Carrier..! WOW..!

  • hahahahha 3:45

  • I've been to Madeira, scary when the plane's turning at the end of the runway, you look over and you just see a cliff!

  • must...resist...clicking...on...stupid people doing stupid things....suggested video

  • all airports are dangerous,it depends on the pilot how they land the and taking off the plane.

  • Lukla and Courchevel are probably the worst. Aspen, Telluride, and Tegucigalpa are pretty nasty as well.

  • sint maaarten one of the best in the worl man!!! the video dont show saba airport !!! witch is also a siiick landing!!!

  • i always wondered why aircraft dont make an approach from the sea at kai tak

  • At 4:48 the wheels could have easily clipped a truck!!!

  • This is how you pilot like a boss.

  • Madeira reminds me of roller coaster tycoon

  • awesome video brah

  • top most dangerous airport shown here is in Nepal.

  • @HIMATT0730 was it in Air America?

  • I know that Toncontin is in Honduras. The video is great and scary, God. I dont want to be landing on those airports. I felt bad for the small airplane that landed at St Bartholomey. It is worth researching your airport if you are travelling to a far away place. Your video is very informative. Thanks.

  • my Kindergarten and secondary school are located next to kai tak,,,it is really noise when they are landing,i still remember that every times when the flight approach, my teachers will stop teaching for awhile, since it is to loudly.however, the new hong kong airport have been shift to another place...and kai tak airport is going to become a new tourism zone of hong kong

  • the third airport clip made my laugh out loud during class, hey i thought this was educational not funny! lol

  • Onsyod. I lived in gibralter for 2 years, they just closed the road off when a plane was landing very scary at times

  • @ 2:20 it looks like the airport from 007 GoldenEye

  • was that a road across Gibraltar runway!?

  • @onsyod yes, that's the road that connects the border with Spain and Gibraltar itself :D

  • That was so much fun! WOW!!!

  • Norway and Sweden song? xD

  • why would you build an airport like kai tak

  • great .

  • It is hard being a pilot I know as I am one

  • St Maartin the best!!!.. awesome!!!

  • I'm pretty sure every airport in the middle east is dangerous...

  • imo, being a pilot is the most skillful/hardest job in the world!

    thumb up if agree :)

  • The international airport of Madeira (Portugal) is included in the blacklist of Airports (dangerous), but it is not considered due to the size of your lane, or even part of it due to be built over the sea, but because of crosswinds there way, creating great turbulence. I still remember that the only accident of history of this airport occurred on November 19, 1977, when a Boeing 727-200 TAP crashed into the runway.

  • good song +1

  • 4:35 Put some pants on!!!
