  • the words of this poem, by this genius...belong in silence...without speech in any accompaniment. the technical workings here are well done, very. but to listen to a mediocre love song is a distraction: do I follow the words I see or do I strive to hear harder? I offer this in appreciation of your abilities....just with a thot to improve a possible remake...using instrumentals only. Thank you for reading my comment...from a classical appreciation of both poetry & music. Namaste.

  • wow this is beautiful

  • The Prophet of Gibran is the one I would most prefer to follow, it speaks of more love, beauty and understanding than any religious book

  • It's not where you are from that matters but where you are going

  • dicussing a persons nationality or ethnicity in terms of hate or revulsion or even pride reduces a persons humanity. we should only look upon each other for our words and actions to see the truth of the heart.

  • gibran khalil gibran has no syrian descent what so ever .. never been in Syria .. doesn't even have anything to do with it .. just like sandy20love said .. he is from bchare .. with 2 Lebanese descent parents he loved Lebanon and he always have .. so stop trying to make syrian cause he aint .. and making up peoples biographies .

  • @lebchick1000 he beleaved in syrian nationalism, not lebanese or arabian

just syrian nationalism, this is true and this idea was always in gibran's mind,

well , i don't know why mabe syria was more civilised in the past! anw

    i'm lebanese, ayre bi sourya!!!

    lebanon 4 ever.

  • WOW, THIS WAS FOOD FOR THOUGHT

  • this is wonderful, and would be even better if you took out the few spelling mistakes...ie: pliant, not 'plaint' and weep, not 'weap'....

  • I Love Anastacia thanks for posting the video

  • This is from His book on Amazon : Product Description

Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese American of Assyrian descent, an artist, poet and writer. He was born Gibran Khalil Gibran in Lebanon (at the time a Syrian Province of the Ottoman Empire) and spent much of his productive life in the United States.

  • OneJohnny . i am lebanese and GEBRAN KHALIL GEBRAN is From bcharreh north lebanon , and never been syrian in his life

    plus he's maronite

he's purely lebanese and has only lebanese descent you should be syrian , like all those syrian in USA who pretend being lebanese

  • Actually, he was from the place I am from: The Inner Planes.

  • I love reading his philosophies on love and life! So timeless..

  • Just started reading The Prophet, I cant drop the book its too beautyful, I feel I could read it every night of my life and still his words could uncover more and more treasures hidden deep in our hearts.

Thanks for sharing with all of us.

  • Such a beautiful song

  • Khalil Gibran khalil one of our greatest assyrian kaldean poets! They just made a series of his life. Loved the fact that they called themselves suriani (assyrian/syriac) and not lebaneese! Tihe Gibran

  • in your dreams my friend. Gibran himself said if he wasn't lebanese, he will pick it as his country

  • hahaah habibi, they showed the series on mbc and all other big arabic channels... you can see for yourselves :D

  • looooool my friend succumb did you really read any of Gibran's works. In one of his works, he defines Lebanon and he says that if he wasn't Lebanese, he will pick Lebanon as his country. Anyhow whatever his nationality is, he is a great philosopher.

  • hahaha, yes he is a great philosopher... but read his book, see the movies, whatever you want... they all say the same...

  • can you quote from his works where he says he is not lebanese, enlighten me my friend?

  • My friend, just read his book about his life, entitled with his name. The first pages about the history of his family, they are kaldeans who moved to Lebanon in during 1700 centrury. He is a lebanese citizon, just like I am a swedish citizen but of assyrian heritage.

  • for your kind information you are tottaly mistaken Khalil Jibran is Lebanese so try to live with that...Peace

  • honey! i´m not making this up. PLEASE read his book about his life.. the FIRST page! THE FIIIRST page it sayes hes of assyrian ETNICITY!!!! but he is of lebanese nationality // love

  • @succumb assyrian doesnt mean syrian hun look up wat assyrian is

  • my favorite of all. Thanks for this vid.

  • I love this man's words

  • the music isn't maybe the one i would have chosen to illustrate this Gibran's excerpt of The Prophet.

  • When you love you should not say, "God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."

And think not you can direct the course of love, for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

thanks for the upload my dear SIMA OMAR!!!

    5****(

  • The greatest amongst the poets.

  • WOW cool my name is Gibran i swear look at my page

  • its funny that most of these people should say that they love Khalil Gibran and still spell his name wrong

  • love has nothing to do with spelling a name right or wrong :p

  • touche'

  • the most beautifull words which i was listening in this earth....''khalid gibrain''

  • I love so much Gibran, this poem is all the better for our soul

  • The Love Kahir Gibran wrote of endures all...

Beautiful words and great video, thank you for sharing. Peace.

  • love should be as deep as the river nile in full flood .but most rivers of love are just likend to shallow streams which oh so quickly dry up in the desert sun
