I am a great fan of the raaga 'Hamsanaadam'.. I guess this song is also based on it. except for a few Tamil pronounication problems, I guess this is the best melody song ever sung in this competition.. See her rendition at 6:27 (singing vizhivellam).... equalling what Hariharan has rendered. Hence the reaction and the subsequent scenes in the show.... She is the calibre of going all the way...
