  • Oh God lol

  • Ah I remember this edition. Awesome lesson. Thanks for upload!

  • @saberbazer

Paul is a superb musican who has written great songs, and you have no idea.

  • man!

  • @saberbazer Oh yea? who's a good musician?

Paul has sold a lot more records than you have.

  • My PG Total Guitar videos have been pulled by the YouTube Gestapo and I've received a "Strike ONE" warning. Be afraid Exorince, be very afraid.

  • 4 people threw their guitars out the window :D

  • I can play wonderwall

  • I love at the end of the final riff/lick... Paul looks contented with himself (flicks his volume switch off) and looks up... takes a moment to reflect how cool he is, and thinks of how to conclude his lesson...

One word is all he needs...

    "yeah"

    <3

  • You can really hear how other guitarists put this technique to use, especially Jimi Hendrix in "Come On." The rhythm combined with palm mutes.

  • Paul Gilbert knows what music is.

    That's for sure! ;)

  • That's cuz most of these shred guitar guys have huge egos. Paul is the most downt to earth out of all of them.

  • at least thats what i thought until i saw 4:22 to 5:12, that part murders all others : )

  • 3:01 to 3:20 = sickest shit ever : D

  • I think that this is what Angus Young is a master of...

  • hes freakin poppin and slappin on that guitar =O

  • look at his fingers!!!!!

    (at 0:25)

  • micheal angelo batio is also a great guitarist like paul gilbert

  • but batio is nowhere near gilbert when it comes to teaching, showing stuff and actually passing knowledge and trying to help young guitarists, actually paul is prolly the best teacher of all famous guitar players

  • And what about Joe Satriani? :D

He must be a great teacher too! Just look at Steve Vai, maybe Kirk Hammett...!

  • Kirk Hammett — worthless ugly!

  • Krik Hammett is somebody who helped Metallica to be at the status they are now...

He is worthless and there are much better guitarists and metal bands like Symphony X, Between The Buried And Me, and so on... They're much better than Metallica but after all Metallica is the most famous.

  • Не в популярности же счастье!

    Счастье делать то, что нравится!

А hammet kirk всегда будет говном

  • love the end.

    "yea!"

its cool to see him love playing guitar.

  • This man is just insane. But, I just can't help but watch his fingers move with such speed an accuracy.

    In one word... Brilliant.

  • why are the "f holes" just painted on?

  • part of his madness...and they hide a knob and the pickup selector :)

    Look very close at them

  • 'cos it looks cool

  • I agree, theyre purely for visual style

  • this sounds a LOT like how nuno bettencourt plays most of his riffs, with the muting inbetween the notes like that. great lessson from a great teacher

  • so amazingly good

  • i love the self confident YEAH at the end there. great lesson too

  • He's so awesome!

  • a guitar messiahs :D

  • paul si gruoss

  • Rock on Master!!!

  • just yeah

  • Paul Gilbert on of the best guitar player in the world, and the best guitar teacher you'll find!!!

  • 3:47 kinda sounded like a bass

  • paul you are the best!!!!! fantastic

  • "And music, most of the time, has a rhythm, so it's handy to have one..."

    ....

    LOL

this guy is awesome, 5 stars

  • click 3:25 over and over again....sorry i love you paul

  • His f###ing hands look like spiders when he plays. Thats unreal talent!

  • Paul Gilbert is Without out a doubt THE best guitar teacher you'll be able to find on youtube. He teaches so well and explains what he's doing.

  • The key to playing fast is that your fingers really don't move that much on the fretboard, thats one key.

  • thanks to these videos

  • that are fast* my bad

  • you can also do things are fast hahahahaha

  • hey paul... I LOVE YOU!

  • i would pay to hear what he does improv.

  • i love it how he says "yah" at the end

  • please god come teach me.

  • can you come teach me paul gilbert?

  • Paul Gilbert is pure pwnage.

There's also something I find hilarious about him. I don't know what it is, there is just something funny about him.

  • As a drummer, i would LOVE to play for this guy. Kudos to the shredder who has rhythm.

  • I love how Paul says stuff like "oh you can play something like this (3:34)" ...... And I say " not everyone can play as well as you Paul Gilbert".

    AAAAAAA++++++++++++

  • He's a great guitarist, and great teacher, and seems like a nice guy, I find it tough to not like this guy

  • Your right about that. He should be on Mad TV because he has that kinda sense of humor. He would fit right in. He could have been in a movie with Chris Farley. Could you imagine Chris Farley falling stomach first on his guitar and breaking it. Yes Paul is also an incredible guitar player to say the least.

  • mf! is bad!fck yeah!

  • How could anybody dislike Paul Gilbert?

  • DUNNO!!Hes a truly great musician and inspiring teacher/mentor.

  • its kinda of like the same feel as slap bass

  • Yeah Paul taught Buckethead for years.

  • Rhythm is what made SRV so damn good. You can almost hear a little Stevie in what Paul's doing.

  • WOW!

  • :P You know someone's a damn good guitarist when they can make something so groovy and nifty out of something so elementary.

  • duuuude!

    this guy is da bomb!

  • The Man that Taught Buckethead, Ladies and Gentlemen.

  • no he didnt

  • Yes he Did.

  • ... sort of. not for too long, but no big deal

  • Yeah he definately did, buckethead admits it and that paul gilbert was one of his greatest inspirations

  • I know, and yet no one belives it.

  • buckethead isn't a guitar player.. he's a chicken bucket with arms

  • A Chicken Bucket With Arms That Can Fucking Pay!

  • Pay lol

  • This guy knows his stuff!

  • great teacher

  • hes just too fucking awesame lmao i love paul gilbert :D

  • He is a fuckin great teacher!!!

  • One of the best.

  • jesus christ he makes it look so easy it's hilarious.

  • I loved 3:56-4:10

  • Love that Jimmy Page lick at the end. For all the flash and technique, it's all about the groove.

  • Why do you guys need tabs? He explains how to do it and details it, just do the same and incorporate it into your own music. You don't need a tab to see what he's doing...

  • tabs please =]

  • Its right there in front of you- just read his hand.

  • well said

  • Shamino1's right... since I started learning lead guitar that's how I learned some of my favorite songs, by watching and listening...

  • or just use yer ear

  • great lesson. would be cool if you could post the tabs here
