Yes, this machine can do intansia and fair isle knitting and does it beautifully :-) There is an intarsia carriage available for this unit but it can be done without it just fine. Fairisle knitting is done with the use of punch cards and there is a great variety of those available or you can make your own. To me the knitting machine worth it's cost many times, since I do all sort of knitting including lace with this unit. Thank you for your question, Lena.
what about intarsia or fair isle knitting does the machine do that? amazing though.. i have often thought about teaching my boyfriend to knit so he could do the bitch work and sew in ends....is the machine worth the cost?
Please, review the "Brother Knitting Machine Threading" video on this channel for correct threading of your Japanese made knitting machine. Best of knitting, Lena.
Hi I like your vidoes.My machine is a bit diffrent ..And I don't have a manual with it..Do you have a manual for a Brother Profile552 I tried to follow you.But like I said my machine has a row of buttons behind the carriage.It says pattern center on it.an dhad numbers from 1-8 on it..Then a botton with A or B. and then one with l or R am sure that one means left or right. Carriage has Tuck -Plain -Part and 3-2--1 on top of c And I don'i know how to work this. Thanks Marge
@littlebo1000 The manual for your machine is available for download at ftp://ftp.brother.ca/MANUELS%20_%20MANUALS/English/KNITTING_MACHINE/KH552-UG.PDF
Knitting machine set-up, threading, basic knitting and maintenance are similar to Brother 260 featured here. Good luck with your machine and keep me posted on your progress. Lena
Taisia, thank you for beginnig videos. I just got this machine and have trouble with patterns. The manual doesn't really help me with setting the wheels and brushes... Would you make any videos on how to do that, please? Thank you, Iryna

Can this use all types of yarn?
Christiancr2 3 months ago
@Christiancr2
I would not use only extremely fluffy yarn, the rest is OK. Best wishes, Lena.
