Okay, I have no idea what any of these commenters are talking about. I thought this movie was fantastic. The actors were amazing. The story was great. You expected a certain ending, and you got the total opposite. I think it made the story and the message, that much more powerful.

I don't understand how Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't at least nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her role in this movie. She was fantastic! Not many actresses could have stepped up to the challenge of impressing the World's millions of Country Music fans the way Gwyneth did, while still delivering such a raw, emotional performance. Well done Gwyneth!

The trailer is misleading. It looks like an inspirational feel good redemption movie instead you get a depressing film with a tragic ending. The movie doesn't know what it wants to be and it wastes the talents of its actors.

@gmv0801 I both agree and disagree... the trailer WAS very misleading, I agree with you that the trailer's theme was completely contrary to the film. That being said, I enjoyed the film, so much in fact, that I bought the DVD, which I rarely do anymore. The film WAS depressing and had an incredibly tragic [and unexpected] ending, but it was incredibly realistic... life, unfortunately, doesn't always end happily [even for celebrities] and at times, is the antithesis of inspiring.

Though now I'm almost certain Gweneth's character makes a comeback and gives one heck of a performance at the end...the trailer director or whatever they are called, really didn't do a good job of making me think 'I WONDER what happens at the end?'
