There actually is a sequal on the way, though. Just announced recently. Called "The Power of the Dark Crystal." Look it up. Brian, the son of Henson is directing it, and they say he does a pretty good job of staying true to his father's work. I'm looking forward to it.

well working with them yea, materializing the entire world from scratch take an equel ammount of time. the wardrobes, the landscapes. i think this movie would look the best with all puppest with cgi backgrounds and touch ups.
I personally believe CGI could definitely work as an enhancement of the background(the Henson company is of of the few out there that actually know how to make CGI work), but I think part of the magic of the first movie was all the subtle details in the "puppet" background

@EternityEyes no it's coming out next year 2011, i think somewhere in the spring, and i read they're making it 3D, i kinda wish they wouldn't, i think they should leave it alone. i hope they'll make it in 2D also for people that can't handle 3D.

@RichXbox360 I agree, I am pretty sure Jim would roll in his grave,if people had messed up his greatest work. Bad enough they messed up, Seasme Street and the Muppets. Also Brian Froud's work too. I just wish people would leave the Dark Crystal alone, it's been my child-hood for ages. Most of Jim's movies had been cherished in my heart.

Agreed, the AHHHHHH part and the part where the old king person thing dries up are the only things I remembered when I thought of this movie, and those were the parts that freaked me out,also I agree with the peter and the wolf thing ;_; good thing they got him in the end
