@zumbadawn aloha love. yes, you can! it comes with really sturdy hooks that you can screw into anything that will support your weight. so the ceiling of your family room, a tree, or a swing set are all ideal. i know a lot of people who have these in their houses or hang from their swing sets in the back yard. and its easy to take down, to wash and is water proof so if you leave it in the rain you're fine:)
