  • My son lives in Bozemen MT. On a recent visit I went to the plant for a tour and took a BR-160 with me. I had a few beers with some of the people that work there my son knows. He works for AT&T and keeps them in iPhones. They loved the Blueridge. One guy tried to trade me a Gibson Jackson Browne signature model. I turned him down but gave him a contact where he could order a BR 160 from Maury,

  • Where is the BR-60, 70 and BR-160 made? Are they made in the USA or somewhere else?

  • @clovis2012 Blueridge China, does that hurt the sound? Guitar Magazine chose it as the number 3 guitar out there right behind Martin and Gibson made in China Tennessee.

  • @LiberTBo I'd put it over the Gibson. Gibson's are so inconsistant. You have to weed thru quite a few before you find one that sounds halfway decent. And the Blueridges are built cleaner inside then most Gibsons. Look inside with a mirror sometime and compare. The Blueridges will cut thru way more in a group situation then the Gibson's.

  • for the money you cant go wrong . i had one and put several exspensive up grades in it. i am thining out my collection,so i gave an alvarez yari ay 20 to my daughter, kept the old martin d 28,the guild d30a,guild f112 sting, and the guildf 40 A ,and a epiphone slope shoulder, but i traded the blue ridge160 in on a used gibson natural top rosewood advanced jumbo slope shoulder. i will miss that big cannon sound, but am happier now.

  • i was going to buy one untill i realised the headstock didn't look gay enough.

  • @davezz5 That's funny dude!

  • I play a br 160a and I love it!!! I installed the plate mate and bone nut and saddle tho...Stock it was a hoss and trust me I had the money for a HD 28 but I love this guitar w/ a passion!!

  • @mandolinman20 Br 160 comes with a Bone nut and bone Saddle bone.

  • The Martin D-28 is the best sounding MASS PRODUCED guitar there is. You can find Blueridge, Yarri,(Alvarez),Unique,Breedlove...All have better sounding guitars, but they are hand built.

  • i don't like martin's anymore

    they're unplayable

and to get some dynamic sound you have to strum thrice as strong than any other normal acoustic guitar

    Martin must be for lorrydriver

  • @overban888 you must have some cheap piece of shit martin then

  • @overban888 martins are not for beginer players thats why you cant get the sound out of it

  • dont listen to the haters, people are pissed because the br-160's sound better than MOST martins and its pissing people off. The neck is perfect not too thin. People just eat too many twinkys and have fat fingers. BR-160 should have been #1 not 3.

  • These are one of the finest guitars i have ever played this is just as good or better than my hd 28,dont tell martin i said this what would an hd 28 with adirondack cost more than this blueridge br160a

  • @allymac98

its blateantly a copy of martin d28 and i own a D 28 and sounds wayyyyy better..

  • what song is he playing?

  • @bluegrasssingingman

thats your oppinion D28 is the best cuase its so well balanced and also because of its history.. there are more expensive guitars out there, but you have to realize so many guitars, including this blueridge is based on the martin D-28..

alot of guitars copy the martin shaped headstock. and D 28 style sound and dreadnought..

i went for the D 28, ive played other guitars that i thoguht sounded amazing too, but there are not as well balanced and universal as the D28.

  • @bluegrasssingingman

ive p;ayed a D 16 with scollop bracing next to my D 28 when i decided to buy it, and the D 16 doesnot sound as good with or without scollop bracing..

your claiming its a copy of the HD 28 because of the pick guard???

either way its a copy of a MARTIN D-28 eerything is a copy of the martin D 28.

HD 28 is more expensive but still not better.... you really dont know anything about guitars.. mcartney, elvis, dylan, led zepplin, and many other all chose the D 28..

  • @bluegrasssingingman

WRONG HD 28 is basically D 28's brother,, basiacally a D 28 trying to push out more sound more base.. but the end result shows, even for a more exspensive and laater designed guitar the D 28 is better... youll find almost most people would agree with me...

  • @quickmantan

who are the best band in the world,, the beatles... they are not nesseserily the best musicians but they wrote great songs, and what they done was important for music, just like the D28... the HD 28 is basically the D 28 with more volume....

im sure there is some off brand acoustic out there that alot of people think sounds amazing... but at the end of the day martin is still the best, adn the D28 is the best model. or HD 28 even tho you seem to think they are different..

  • @quickmantan The d-16 is mog. wood not rosewood. Try the d-16r, and the hd-16lg.

  • @bluegrasssingingman

I agree this bluirridge guitar is amazing sounding and looks great especially for the price.. but to say its bettter than a martin , is rediculous cause martin is the best guitar brand, and every guitar bluridge make is compied from MARTIN

  • @quickmantan I never said it was better then a Martin

  • a great bluegrass guitar for flatt picking

  • I agree about neck. I have a br-40 that sounds fantastic, but the string spacing at the nut is ridiculous. The thin neck is great for barre chords, but it's terrible for open chords in the first position. I found a sort of make-shift solution, though: I detuned the guitar a full step and put a capo on the 2nd fret. It's amazing how much more room that gives you. Also, since the strings are looser, it makes it easier to play and gives it a more mellow sound. Check my channel for examples.

  • Oh one other thing too, the older br160s have fat necks.. A big + I hate the thin necks on todays brs

  • Do you know when they went to having the thin necks? My BR-160 was made in November 2002. I've always felt like it could be a wee bit thicker, but I have big hands.

  • My 2002 BR160 is awsome, BIG bass, More then the new ones, I couldnt beleive it, When I ordered a second one from music123, it was conciderably thinner then my 2002, on one other ocassion at open mic at andys pub, this guy had a newer 160, same thing again..

  • I have always been a Martin guy but I recently bought one of these BR 160s and it is unbelievable. Great sound and playability. The neck and fret work are both top drawer. Love it!!!

  • I have one too. Guitar is great. My playing sucks.

  • These are great, my Uncle had one, then he sold it. I was soooooo upset with him! Sounded just as good as his D-28.

  • made in China, unreal workmanship, after WW2 it was Japanese junk,a few years ago, China was not associated with quality products too,as of 2009,its a whole different story, super guitar

  • what awful accent. It's sides, not saaades.

  • Ive had mine for nearly a year, and I have to say, this is the best guitar under 1.5k out there!!!!!!!!!!!

It records well, and just gets better and better tonally. I spend 3-4 hours each weekend on mine. Recently Ive been writing and recording more and it sounds incredible!

  • this guitar is awesome! with some new elixirs it sounds amazing!

  • I got one! It sounds great.

  • super gitarre
