This was great! I remember Jealous J clearly from '91: "my dj's on the t-o-p, jealous j's his name, gemini is me..." Those were the times when Miami TRULY had it's own sound. Now we're all mixed with southern crunk and even some NY elements. To me, the Miami sound DIED long ago. I feel fortunate to have been born before '81. These young cats just don't know. Just my 2 cents.
well, I'm not familiar with the "miami sound" per say, but I can relate to the fact that the new stuff these days are WAAAY to polished and stiff...it's not like the old days where you sampled soulful James Brown grooves.
