You gonna fix up this tractor? Sounds like it runs pretty good. For the carb the needle on flywheel side is idle mixture adjustment...needle on clutch side is load mixture adjustment. Sounds like it could use a valve adjustment.
@79fordblake I'd like to keep it original. A few fixes here and there. Engine probably has 500 hours on a new bore and everything, tranny was rebuilt two years ago, so not much left to do to it. From setting the carb on mine, I got pretty good and was able to get this one set good as well. It sounds so good now that I adjusted it. Valve adjustment because of the clicking?
@reeseholler92...they all make some noise but that one sounds a little excessive...valves prolly need to be tightened up a tad bit more. After overhaul and its been ran a while valves should be adjusted anyway and head re-torqued. I need to rebuild the transmission in my '48 A...I have all the bearings...just need time to do it.
@TheTractorguy140 I believe they are old steel implement wheels filled with concrete. I have seen several tractors in my area that have that style of weight. The transmission in this one was rebuilt with new bearings last year and the engine is bored .090 over. that thing runs good
