Everyone has an opinion, and that's cool. BUT, if you really listen to this CD, and compare it to the other shit that was out there in the late '80s, this record rocks. As for Bobby buying the band's name and continuing in a different version, well, Hatchet isn't at all different from 90% of all the other classic rock bands out there. Hlubek had an opportunity to buy the name and declined. Thanks Bobby for carrying on the music. Last time I checked, Skynyrd had only one original member,
it is but not all tracks posted, some of their cd s are obscure, hard to understand as hatchet is in the same league AS skynard, tight, loud and survived the test of time and the deaths of danny jo and axe slinger duane, step on it duane! rip
@Kizales Yes, this is Danny Joe Brown singing. This song is from the last album he appeared on "Lightning Strikes Twice". Somehow we got into a discussion above about the album Devils Canyon which was the first album which did not have DJB on vocals.
There are a lot of people who don't like the current MH line-up. I personally know every member of the current line-up and they're all terrific guys and great musicians. People want to original line-up and to be honest I would love to see the original six back together w/Danny Joe singing but that can never happen, even if they all were alive and healthy.
There is really only 2 things that killed the original line-up: bad management & excesses by the band members, mostly the second one.
@mizzouborn Correct on Danny Joe not actually singing on Devil's Canyon. I just hadn't taken the time to respond to snuffereet. I did notice Hlubek is now playing with the band but from what I've seen (and admittedly I have seen very little of the current band as I'm not a big fan of it [as you probably noticed from my post]) it doesn't look like he's playing much lead. Sad really, MH could have been much more but several things prevented that from happening. Thanks for your input and comments.
This is the only Hatchet album I cannot find on CD. I think this album was their weakest material but I still need it to collect my set. btw, Danny Joe appeared on Devil's Canyon, but I don't know exactly which songs. He got sick in the middle of mixing and had recorded a few vocals.
Weak album or opposite, i love this one! Imho, this LP / CD has lovely songs. And great guitar work of Bobby Ingram made it more valuable.

Even though he's mentioned, Danny Joe didn't do anything on Devil's Canyon. I know for a fact.
This album is very weak....this was the debut album on Capital (not SPV) and the record company had too much say in what they recorded.
BTW, Dave has been back in the band for about 5 yrs.
