I love this version. Sounds like this version (which is more rocking than what's in the film or the stage version) has some influence from Elvis' "Little Sister."
haha I love ittt! My mom got me into this movie and we actually have the DVD but haven't watched it in yrs but I actually just watched it last night because it was on tv and all the words came back to me and I knew everything! I like him doing this in the movie better but it's still good on this too. He was a good actor I wonder why he wasn't in more things I know he was on some tv shows like Beverly Hillbillies and Andy Griffith for a few episodes but that's about it.
He was so GOOD! Why did'nt he last? Does anyone no anything about family or a picture of him in later years, What kind of cancer did he have. It was sad that he died so young. I had seen the movie when it came out, I was only 11. I have this dying need to find out more of his history and not having much luck. He would almost be 80 yrs. If anyone can forward any info, I would so appreciate it.
@cutie4u61288 He was only 49. I wish I could find more on his life. I did find a little info, this was by a distant relative who said her Mother was his cousin and had good memories of there youth, and that he went to his Mother's to wait for his passing. I want so bad to learn more.
@nancygef so you don't know how he died? How did you find this distant relative. I know I can't find anything on the internet. I wouldn't say that's really distant that means they were second cousins then.
For some reason, this version of "One Last Kiss" reminds me of Elvis' "Little Sister" (perhaps that was intentional.) The guitar riffs especially. Yeah, I wish this version was act ually in the movie. It's done in a tongue in cheek spoof way, but it's still rockin'!
Jesse Pearson's career is so mysterious. Bye Bye Birdie was his big break but after, he had almost no resume and died at such a young age. Kinda wish he had more fame, he deserved it.
@someone481 when did he die? Does anyone know? I tried looking him up on google but theirs not very much info. I know he was on a few shows on Andy Griffith and Beverly Hillbillies but that's about it. I loved him in bye bye birdie I wish he would have done more.
@someone481 he did. i admired his good looks. he could have been the 2nd ELVIS. it's a matter of luck & the agents who promote you. it's not an easy industry. i saw him on andy griffith, the beverly hillbillies, & ? it's such a long time ago.

I wish they had just had his voice and none of those female helium vocals or whatever it is that's going on. It kills all the appeal of the song.
