Saku was knocked out in the third fight with Wandy, 2nd fight he broke his collarbone when Wandy slammed out of a choke. 1st fight was a ref stoppage, Saku wasn't out, but taking damage from the knees (first fight where kicks to downed opp were legalized). Also have to remember Wandy had 30lbs on Sakuraba, while Galesic was maybe 10lbs bigger.
now that was a great come back win...but Saku also has been that entertaining fighter to watch in his younger days along side my other favorite mma fighter Genki Sudo!

Beating the undefeated legend Royce Gracie in a 90 minute match then going on to fight the best heavyweight in the world Igor Vovchachyn to a draw in the same night. hehe sorry but not enough good things can be said about this man to me :)

Dunno how I never saw this first time round. This was amazing and defo is the greatest sub of all time. Sakuraba has to be in the top 5 mma fighters of all time.
sakuraba took a beating... damn. and still came off with that submission. props to galesic too. he did a good job trying to break free for the toehold. it's just unbelievable how saku pulled that off. that's raw skill right there.
It's rare to see Sakuraba voluntarily take a beating, but it just shows how beast he is allowing Galesic to do that and be in total control the entire time.
I knew this would be an epic fight, and I knew Sakuraba was lookin for the sub and Galesic would be lookin for the KO... always good to watch 2 finishers.

@TheRealJohnnieBlaze because he was working the leg the entire time. from the time saku dropped back for the heal hook there to the kneebar, there were three snaps in galesic's leg. the knee going was the final.

sakuraba took a beating... damn. and still came off with that submission. props to galesic too. he did a good job trying to break free for the toehold. it's just unbelievable how saku pulled that off. that's raw skill right there.
