Placing a NHL team in any Canadian city would NOT result in a sell out every game. There's a reason teams were moved from Winnipeg and Quebec and they were mainly financial - those teams did NOT have great attendance.
I hate when teams exist in cities populated by subhumans. You're from Philly and you're all notoriously fickle fans...The Phillies had HORRIFIC attendance before they had success so give me a break. Take a look at the sixers right now
@wraydar our attendance was great before success you fucking idiot we always had great attendance and about 50% of the stadium was filled at veterans stadium. which held 65,000 people! not bad for a team that put up under .500 records year after year. and the sixers arent really that popular in philadelphia even when they were in the NBA finals in 2001 they werent a town favorite
@Italianpants24 You do have a point, but I think the Conference Finals is what gives '04 the edge. Lightning over Flyers in 7, Flames over Sharks in 6. In the '10 Playoffs, neither Conference Final went past 5 games.
@stephl349 that is true, im just a huge flyers fan and i look at what they went through to get to the stanley cup, the shoot out and everything. But the boston flyers series was the most emotional series of hockey i have ever seen in my life that went right down to the last seconds of game seven.
@Italianpants24 You're right about the Boston-Philly series. It's probably the greatest series I've ever witnessed, one of the best ever played. Only other 3-0 comebacks (of which there are just 2) can brag having as emotional a series.
I think one second to flyers can win this series and can win a stanley cup but tampa was a great team and they are the best team for won the great honor !
I agree. The Flyers were missing Desjardins (their best Defenseman) and Johnsson, was playing with a fractured wrist. This forced Kapanen to play on the blueline often. The one thing the 2004 Flyers couldn't afford to happen was to suffer major injuries during the playoffs. Tampa took advantage of the Flyers' weakened defense, by scoring 8 times on the PP. Missing Desjardins as the PP quarterback affected the Flyers, as well...as they only scored one time on the powerplay.
@Flyerfan91 and the '09 red wings, we had three of our top defenseman slowed down by injuries and datsyuk was hurt, pretty much zetterberg and franzen were our only healthy forwards during that run and we took our role as the defending champion to the final second of game 7 of the final so BIG WHAT IF you know
No, because the Bucs beating the Eagles in the NFC Championship game was in 2003...the year BEFORE the Lightning breat the Flyers in the 2004 Eastern Conference Final. Just so you know:-D;-)
@pujols37105 no not really because your city has yes to win a superbowl lol. Tampa beat philly in 02-03 season and then won the superbowl... philly sucks at manly sports
not to be mean but i hate philly so HA FUK U FLYERS

After reading all these comments, it seems as if flyers fans have the sorest, most enflamed twats of any fans in the NHL.

had Johnson been 100% and rico been healthy who knows. The 04 flyers and the 06 Sabres were two teams doomed by injuries on the blue line
