This brings back memories. I was a member of the Cardozo High School Band that marched in the 1981 Tournament of Roses Parade. We played Conquistador (among many other songs such as Diana Ross's The Boss) as well. I believe Ballou is playing the same arrangement. Joseph Chisolm, an alum of Cardozo went on to become Ballou's band director. He eventually left, but the music remained. Ballou did a pretty good job. The Rose Bowl Parade is one long, grueling parade. u get lil zzz t/night b4.
