I don't think it'll be 'Americanized' in the way you fear (no, I never found Jerry Lewis funny, either!). Also, I don't have a problem with the Doctor being half-human, as that would explain a lot. As long as we get a good, solid adventure story (with an emphasis on 'story') possibly involving both the Daleks and the Master, I'll be happy.
