I don't know, but I don't think he was the greatest Frenchman, although he was a hero at Verdun. Louis XIV was great and Napoleon was great and DeGaulle was great. Another great "Frenchman" was a woman: Joan of Arc !

@misterrobotex Clemenceau aurait ruiné l'Allemagne ? ce n'est pas plutôt les spéculateurs américains, même si je reconnais que la doctrine "l'Allemagne paiera" n'était pas frocément la bonne, il fallait faire aboslument faire une paix durable et sincère avec l'Allemagne (surtout aprés cet immense suicide que fut la 1ère guerre mondiale pour l'Europe).
