  • holie schemolianss - - very cool, too bad your channel didn't come in very clear in San Antonio, in "87.. er.. on 2nd thought, i was in boot camp in '87 - - still. great, weird, wonderful work

  • @skullpepper The channel came in clear enough, but the 20+ year old VHS tape and my crap conversion hardware leaves a lot to be desired.

  • i thought i was crazy... i could not find anything from them... marsha, how much, for the family size petroleum jelly.

  • @abstractplanet That's partly why I posted these videos; with the hope that other people might have their other skits and post them. But mainly, I think their skits are awesome and no one else had posted any of them..

  • @reivenlocke Sometime after these clips they added a third member, a musician, to create "The Music Project" and performed as a trio at The Bottom Line and elsewhere. That musician was me.

  • @radiowonderland

    Cool! :P

  • They were both members of the performance art collective Watchface. James is now a famous painter.

  • @radiowonderland

I remember seeing these in the late 80s as an elementary school kid thinking, "This makes NO sense, but they've got a great sense of rhythm"

After 25 years, the picture is grainier, but the message has never been so clear.

  • Ha.... this is pretty funny!

  • Thanks for this upload! I too have bits and pieces of the DFC on a clunky old VHS tape somewhere and this was always one of my favorite bits from it.

Such an amazing show... would great to get a hold of them all someday.

Also, I too find it weird that these guys are nowhere to be found on the internet. I was sure the interwebs knew it all, but now I have my doubts.

    le sigh...

  • I used to have all the dangerous film clubs on VHS. I especially liked "dog spelling test". But these guys were the best part!

  • Awesome! I'll look forward to that!

  • Moms and .... Service?

Thanks so much for posting these!!! Just talking about it the other day. Who can put DFC out on dvd!!!?????

    Love it!

  • "Sorry I'm late, where am I supposed to work?"

"I only have two hands, ma'am"

"Next, this window's closed, can't you read?"

"You'll have to call back after 2:45 and ask for Mr. Schween."

"Oh no, it's my please sir" ("stiffed again - shoot!")

"Oh no, it's my please sir" ("you stupid ugly hog")

"This scent is not for everyone."

"Marsha, how much for the family size petroleum jelly?"

If anyone knows where to get more of this (and any of the DFC material), then bring it, PLEASE.

  • I have all the "Dangerous Film Club" episodes (I think there were 5?) on VHS somewhere. This stuff was outstanding, as were all the other parts of the show. The best of these bits IMHO is one of which I can't remember the title, and dealt with people in stores and such, with repeated lines such as (see next message):

  • Thanks for finding these! I also remember "Moms" ("WAIT till your father hears about this, WAIT till your father hears about this") and "Movies" ("open the pod bay doors please Hal, open the pod bay doors please Hal). Both on the Dangerous Film Club.

Odd that there's no mention of this duo (or their videos) elsewhere on the Intertubes.

  • I wish I had a copy of Moms (it sounds like fun). I believe they did a version of their "Movies" skit as a Cinemax commercial "Izzit safe? Izzit safe?? IS IT SAFE??" I had a version of that on my tape, but it has a glitch that makes my digitizer freak out and not record it.

But you're totally correct about there not being vaguely any mention of Chazz and James online. And that's a shame, because they had a fun schtick.
