  • what software did you use? can i download it?

  • I used this mask on my face and it matched! This is how i did it: Download picture of mask. Open picture in adobe ilustrator. Using pen tool draw lines on the mask. Than remove picture of mask and group all lines. Then put your picture and match it! Hope i helped! You need about 5 minutes for this.

  • dont you just hate how theres a golden ratio, and its so interesting to know we have a biological prefrence, but sucks that most people that know about this information, dont have the golden ratio

  • my face is uneven. one eye looks like angelinas while the other looks like pierces.

  • there are golden ratio masks for white, black and asians with slight ratial differences, like there are typical features between men and women.. but at the end the general formula works for everybody. these are beauty studies based also on faces of the past like cleopatra, ancient romans etc. so this is the standard for timeless beauty.

  • Perfect skin also plays a major role. If the face does not fit, perfect skin can make any facial shape appealing. (reason why there is makeup related stuff) and if someone is close to the golden ratio, it doesn't mean the ratio is wrong or bs. it means the person is close to the perfect ratio.

  • I thought the woman mask was a man's. Oops.

  • can u tell me how can I do that too.. I have gimp program but can't do the way that ur doin.. please tell us

  • it dont match to angelina jolie face at all dont bullshit us! eventhow it dosnt match angelina face she is supper pretty! so this is retio is bullshit

  • @ASAFYY Angelinas face all fits apart from the lower jaw, and if you asked me what I thought the only flaw was with her face before seeing this video, I would have said that it is her large Jaw. Dunno if this ratio actually IS real or not, seems a lot to say that it is, but either way it's pa pretty cool concept no?

  • Did you use both PhotoShop and Gimp together to apply mask to a picture? Can't figure that out :(

  • My face match that mask, is that something good?

  • I think there may be such a thing as too perfect. People are going to find me strange for saying this, or maybe some will not but; although Angelina Jolie matches the mask to perfection, she does not appeal to me as a very pretty woman. I find that more petite faces are much more attractive, her face is too full on in my opinion.

  • @ireternalexistence angelina dosnt match the mask

  • I don't find the golden ratio particularly special at all.

  • @becouse its bullshit

  • I can see you distorting the proportions of the mask at 6:07 - so if you're not scaling proportionally (keeping the same aspect ratio) you can get this to fit almost any face. Dumbass.

  • Not only is her jaw too wide, but if you look closer you can see that her chin is too long, eyes and eyebrows too low and one side of her face is wider than the other. Far from the mathematical definition of beauty.

  • This is what they look at or go by when they want a model and we already now their are some ugly ass models that fit this shit but usher, tyra, halle, jlo, denzel, naomie cambell,AALIYAH, beyonce trey songz ,chris brown, janet jackson(before surgey and after) Rhianna ,megan good and other people of ethnic background all considered beautiful none are white some may have white mixed but they dont look white and they dont fit this white man mask.

  • @HERBLANDZ

Usher is ugly, he has ugly proportions to his face, plain and simple...

Tyra, Halle, J.Lo, Denzel, Naomi, Aaliyah, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Rihanna, they all fit the mask more or less, of course nobody fits it 100% perfect, not even white people :)

  • @primohomme usher being ugly is a personal opinion.usher has been called sexy too many times to listen to what u just said. And i i see nothing but white people put into the golden ratio(thats why i called a white mans mask). Not aaliyah not janet not rhianna beyonce jlo halle or denzel.I dont see any other race.I only see white faces on this vid.U may not like usher just how some people would try to argue tom cruise is funny lookin. Its a matter of taste.

  • @HERBLANDZ

Maybe the person made the video didn't use black faces, but the website from which the facial mask came from features black as well as asian faces besides white ones, both male and female.

Go to : beautyanalysys [dot] com - Then go to "Mask applications" and then to "Face variations" and look at the variations by Sex and Ethnic Group, and then take a huge fucking seat.

And yes, Usher is ugly as fuck, some may consider him "sexy" but scientifically beautiful he is not.

  • @primohomme i dont know if thats the site i saw a long time ago but i know denzel fit it as well as tom cruise camron diaz and and angelina.of coarse neither look alike and it wasnt reshaped by gender.I think maybe some of these golden ratio mask may not be on point.I dont judge guys but an ugly person is the guy who playd hellboy.Jennifer aniston is an ugly bitch yet she is seen as a hot number .all these videos on the side are of one race(white).but i get u ill go to mask applications

  • @HERBLANDZ

There are two masks though, one female and one male...

  • lol, it auto-snapped to my face in Photoshop!

    /troll

  • zoom the fuck out

  • My jaw is too wide. otherwise it would fit perfectly!

  • sweet vid

  • this mask applies only to white people...

  • It's a nice and attractive theory, but in the best of all possible worlds, there is no such thing as a perfect face. First of all, for a variety of reasons people do have widely varying preferations and tastes. Secondly, you will find golden ratio's EVERYWHERE if you look hard enough. I once read an article about the golden ratio's in cola bottles. Those things are literally full of them. And if golden ratio's constitute attractiveness, why aren't we all dating golden rectangles?

  • @Ruben00021

Because, as the saying goes; it's a bit more complicated than that.

  • Anjelina Jolie's face probably was designed with that ratio in mind...and after a few million dollars and a few pounds of sillicone here she is .... Kirk Douglas dressed like a woman....absolutly nothing is real about her!

  • lol what the hell defines perfect?

  • r u a white supremist? you r an idiot whiteboy.

  • Google search '' THE GOLDEN RATIO '' and Angelina Jolie picture will come up.

  • @rockthrustful LIAR!

  • To me it seems proportions make bigger impact than symmetry on attractiveness.

  • but you change the proportions by using 'free transform'

  • ..youre voice is sexyy~~ ...

  • ppl always use the "female" mask on male and female celebrities. what the fuck does that mean anyway? howed you make a mask with that ratio for males and females? wat was the basis? all these factual sounding things regarding beauty, especially with things like gender (because ppl cant consider "male" things beautiful in this gay society) are always wrong and stupid

  • He doesn't make the mask bigger with shift, so the mask doesn't stay in the same size. This means that the mask is incorrect, so the guy he makes of Natalie Portman is incorrect compared to the mask.

  • i know a website where u put your picture up and then click on different parts of your face and using the golden ratio it will give you a result out of ten on how close you are to the golden ratio its goodlookingtest dotcom

  • The mask worked perfectly on my face.

    Awesome!

  • I did a few calculations of some ratios between distinct features on my face and on average, if 1.00 is unity = the golden ratio = 1.61803399, I am on average a 0.84 out of 1.00. Where does this rank me in a distribution curve of facial beauty.

  • pat people lmao, anyways this is a very good tutorial, its easy to understand gj

  • u have a very macho voice

  • Can one apply the Golden Ratio to all ethnicity ´s such as Africans and Asians???

  • Does this ratio apply to all races or as caucasian? Because Asian and Black may not fit in this ratio.

  • @Khantikone123 Nope, it works. The Golden Ratio strongly effects who we find physically attractive, and this "rule" applies everywhere in an international level.

    library(DOT)thinkquest(DOT)org/trio/TTQ05063/marqardtfaces(DOT)gif

  • @Khantikone123 i thought the same thing.

  • @Khantikone123 It does actually.

  • @Khantikone123

It does, but some people are simply not scientifically beautiful :)

  • @Khantikone123

Yes, it does apply for every race.

Search up in google for "Golden ratio faces" lol

  • @Khantikone123 that is the most racist comment! that's like saying Asians and blacks are not perfect like us Caucasians... of course the ratios are the same!

  • @Khantikone123

Ratios are the same, the race doesn't matter, if it doesn't fit there, it's not perfect

  • @Khantikone123 Hitler isn't right about the Aryan Race..... Check, is Blonde hair, blue eyes, the desired height and fairness fit anywhere on the color wheel within the golden mean.

  • @Khantikone123 all races

  • what program is it?

  • You did all this very wonrg....when cahnge the size of the mask you changed by perspective thre for youve changed the ration of the mask....if you want to resize just keep the proportions righ....O_o...

  • this face mast is designed for Caucasians. Asians and africans have different shape and proportions. so this is not the universal beauty check mask. both the male and female faces presented here are ultra masculine. and the eyebrows are so close to the eye, giving people the impressive of anger. because when you are angry your brows flare.

  • Would you believe, the golden ratio point of the world is.......kaaba, mecca. The focal point of prayer for muslims. My calculations are as follows: Kabba to south pole 12357.38. Kaaba to north pole 7624.96 km (+/- 10km). 12357.38/7624.96km = 1.620727. U can try it yourself on google earth using the ruler in tools.

  • i did the proportions and all on my face and the average of all of them was 1.53. i only had like 2 proportions that were 1.666

  • Awesome video dude, congratulations. You don't sound boring at all :)

  • I find people attractive when they look like somebody who I know well. That is what I see as beautiful a lot of the time

  • i love how old school his computer and his phohotochop are, it just goes to show you dont need new computers every five minutes

  • well Anjelina Jolie consider to be verry beautiful in the world, people think she is stunning but the Golden Ratio do not match her face, ho and the Golden Ratio do not match megan face euther so symmetry and Golden Ratio is bullshit!!!!!

  • this is suspect because all the sources cite different parts of the face to go by. also, things in nature have other shapes too. the most attractive people do not fit this ratio. this ratio is what you get if you average all the people together, not what you get from the most attractive,

  • He said: "Even though she's at an angle, it matches perfectly to her face."

And I heard: "Even though she's ef'in ugly, it matches perfectly to her face."

  • Does anyone know how to do this with Paintdotnet? I have the mask, but I don't know how to make it translucent or how to drag it over a photo.

  • Why this theory is suspect: I can just see the profile of an attractive woman and 99% of the time I don't even have to see her full on to assess her symmetry to know that she is beautiful.

  • @zgreggz83 You see faces all day every day. You're an expert in differentiating and assessing them both in memory and by instinct. It's no coincidence the other way around. If you see a deformed unhealthy unsymmetrical face, you don't need to assess it too far before feeling uncomfortable, that's why demons with human-like faces and zombies are often used as fear inducing elements in scary movies. Seeing an alien in your room is scarier than a giant slug.

  • @jimmyrcom Ha. True.

  • @zgreggz83 I feel you!

  • this is really interesting

  • I'll never be able to look at Natalie Portman the same way again. *sigh*

    Cool video, though.

  • love it haha ^^

  • The mask is flawed. It was based on Northern europeans. The mask does not match with some group of people. For example some South American tribes. But the golden rule does apply to them when done with out this mask. So in a sense we all fit it. We are all perfect.

  • @CZRonUTube

thats crap, beauty is harmony, balance, symmerty, contrast. go look at catfish and cat and tell me they are both as appealing to the eye.

  • lol...Angelina Jolie has a chin like Robert Z'Dar lmao :D

  • lol...Angelina Jolie has a chin like Robert Z'Dar lmao :D

  • it can fit african people cuz it's about proportion it doesnt mean that your nose necessarily has to be small it means that youre nose/lips has to be proportional to your face..i bet will smith fits this mask pretty well

  • Dude! rly interesting videos but that tool zoomit or whatever your using is driving me CRAZY with the zoom every thing is moving so fast! ill become cross eyed! but for contents 5/5! ;)

  • wait you resized them....That's not correct...you adjusted the lengths to their faces then, right?? Or did you resize them following a proper porportion??

  • Thanks but...

Can you make a video for begginers that just found out about gimp?

  • I'm on it.The evidence is soon to come. This could completely change the standard for beauty and change this current structure and no, I'm not crazy or just talking crap this is serious.I am still fixing some last minute things.

  • also, wow, magnetman's theme!

  • Jimmy, can I send you a photo of my face so you can apply the face mask please?

  • I don't believe in this so called ''perfect'' face structure. I have discovered a new even more ''perfect'' structure that when compared to this one is much more accurate and attractive. I can see the mistakes in this Golden ratio ,yes i can all ready see the anomaly. And the one i claim to have discovered apply s on both male and female as a hole and shares the characteristics that the celebrity's have. -Believe it or not.

  • good for you

  • Comment removed

  • @crazykong2 Then post a video about it on your channel instead of bragging about it on a comment. You need evidence, dude.

  • The golden ratio is a goot*d tool. The ratio fittst on every person and culture.

  • You should do this to Lady Gagga

  • Because everyone thinks shes a man.

She looks like one too me.

  • look up vintage lady gaga

before debut i believe. she looks quite like a normal girl

if not a very pretty girl

  • Golden Ratio is bullshit, it is based on certain races and not others.

Shania Twain is perfect according to the Golden Ratio.

Most Latin and Black women are more attractive than Shania Twain yet would fall off the scale according to the Bullshit (er, Golden) Ratio.

  • Thank you very much this will help me when trying to carve a face and differentiate between male and female.

  • The false thing is that Anjelina Jolie has a man jow, chin. Her face shape isn't feminine at all! So you shold've chosen another female celebrity who looks more like a woman.

  • @alavetor lol thats what i said...its like Robert Z'Dar chin :D

  • @alavetor

hide your envy. its ugly to read

  • @alavetor Like Orlando Bloom for instance.

  • @alavetor The thing with Angelina Jolie is (I also tried it in Photoshop). He doesn't make the mask bigger, so you don't see that the mask fits her face almost perfectly. Only her mouth should have been a little higher. She is also know for her beautiful lips, if you take her lips apart from her face, you will see that her lips fit the lips of the mask perfectly.

  • @alavetor ! According to what Angelina Jolie has a masculine jaw? According to RETARD American standards? Educate yourself about '' the golden ratio ''. According to '' THE GOLDEN RATIO '' she has got the perfect face. High cheek bones anf full lips add to her beauty.

  • @alavetor Google search '' THE GOLDEN RATIO '' and Angelina Jolie picture will come up.

  • COOL! I

  • Can i have ur email?

because i want to send u a pic, to make it "perfect" and then send it back to me.

    thanks

  • this is b.s. the body index i believe in but this is suggesting only a certain bone structure is attractive. Notice how all of the people shown are caucasian? this leaves alot of room for inaccuracy.

  • lol it looks like ryan sheckler

  • what looks like sheckler

  • how to compute golden ratio? can anyone write a solution here? (didnt watch the vid...)

  • Comment removed

  • BlackGhost547,

    To compute the golden ratio:

    Take a measurement.

    Multiply it by .681

  • try alt-f4, or maybe even killing yourself

  • that number is perfect that why it will fit every man and womens face (excluding birth defects)

  • that thing fits my face so much it's actually scary... But I'm not extraordinairy pretty or something, my face is kind of plain I think

  • wow interesting, i put this on my face and even tho i have a big nose (so i think) i still fit in the mask :S

  • I don't think symmetricak equals attractive. You probably need symmetry for attractiveness, but it is not enought. Make an unattractive face symmetrical by matching the sides and you're not going to have beauty.

  • @zgreggz83 this does not mean symmetrical purely in the sense of side to side but in all the proportional aspects of he face. The john kleese show "the human face" did it to people who were seemingly "quirky" looking attractive- like models- it still fit them perfectly.

  • @zgreggz83 yeah, most of the celebrities that people find to be most attractive have a somewhat deviated nose, among other things.

A square jaw and prominent cheekbones are the main features that make people attractive. (This does not mean that you aren't attractive if you don't have these features).

  • @zgreggz83 its interesting, when i was looking at other sites, the most symmetrical ones looked thinner and longer, as opposed to less symmetrical looking wider. wonder if this is a personal bias or if its a consistent sort of fill in function of the brain

  • On the Oprah show they did the Golden Ratio thing..and they said NO ONE has a perfect face. Oprah was discussing the science of sex appeal and they talked about everything from the Golden Ratio to how people attract a mate..it was very interesting and insightful

  • first of ur a total loser for watching and listening to oprah. Oprah is one of the dumbest person. Did she even went to college? I bet even 12yr old is smarter than her. U make me sick for watching that show

  • and you just made me sick with that stupid comment.. obviously Oprah had scientists and other experts on the show talking about the golden ratio she wasn't just talking about it by herself ..look up the science of sex appeal there's a whole scientific factor behind sex appeal and why we are attracted to certain people vs other people...a duh and yes Oprah went to college do your homework before you go around passing judgments about people because you don't know what your talking about

  • @dudewtfwtf1 You don't know at all about Oprah's history. Therefore, you are the stupid one.

  • White people came up with this crap. Why would I follow a greeks ideology on beauty.Especialy If I'm not caucasian..

  • Well...that's just great....I guess this ratio don't fit for guys who isn't White. Why don't they get some real Somalian looking dudes, or some Africans on here. Why not get some Indians or Chinese dudes.....I guess this type of stuff just don't apply for them huh.

  • Crackers face !!!

  • great man really nice

  • why is the ratio of the model seem completely Caucasian? with long eye brows ....deep eye sets, narrow and long noses , thin lips and tall forehead... these are most likely caucasion features.... so, in this case all the other ethnic groups would be considered ugly by this ratio. I think this is just another scientific racism.

  • You are very right, I didn't notice that. O_O

  • My hairline is arched and I'm a girl...it's called a widow's peak...

  • these are just generalities

  • OMG the men you draw at the last of your video is SOOOO HWAT.

  • it's the third one down on related videos. well, at the moment it is.

  • Great vid <3

  • Haha I love your voice because you don't sound bored while teaching people :]]

  • Wouldn't stretching the mask enable it to fit to any face?

  • shift click maintains aspect ratio on gimp, shoop. in general though yes, you fuck things up but if it's to angle it slightly it's not a big deal.

  • @aleksandrovskysad It's true that the mask has to be stretched to fit the person's face since some people have faces that are larger and smaller than the norm. However, if proportions are kept while stretching out the mask, then the mask can be overlayed a photo of anyone's face and the comparison to that face and the mask can then be made. Pretty cool. I haven't had the guts to try it yet. Not sure if I'd be happy with the results :)

  • @aleksandrovskysad shift click to save aspect ratio, small move to fit slight angle shift, but yes, it ruins aspect ratio.

  • this is a funny and informative video. i like you. :D

  • I wanted to respond to some people who've sent me mail. You guys should know that even though the Golden Ratio has been proven to be an important indicator for beauty- This mask is not perfect. There is debate in the scientific community whether all the right points were taken for the ratio...for instance in a 2D object it's easy to see point A+pointB= Ratio C...but in a 3 D object with round surface it is difficult to see the points. So while this mask has the right idea, it is not perfect.

  • And what about skin color. If you extremely pale or extremley dark, you are less likely to be judged attractive in most cultures despite your golden ratio. There are always exeptions - in certain parts of Africa very dark - almost puple skin - is a sign of beauty. And very tall and very short people are judged less attractive. You can go on and on.

  • I keep seeing examples online of people trying to fit the mask to their own photos upset that it doesn't fit them. The truth is I have yet to find one example on a personal site of someone who placed the mask on their photo in the correct manner. There is a specific way to do it. The truth is that most people fit MOST of the mask. If the mask is Wayyy off on you u're either severely disfigured or u placed the mask uncorrectly. Average looking people fit most of the mask...

  • Yeah, this mask is true. It's actually used by alot of plastic surgeons now. The problem is that there are too many things (like the distance between the eyes for one) that surgery can't correct or is too difficult to correct via surgery. The mask can help you make some minor surgical adjustments though- nothing that will turn you into Angelina Jolie or Tom Cruise though.

  • Actually, Angelina Jolie was downgraded using this measure because her lips were too full...so much for the golden ratio.

  • it's true if you don't believe try to calculate the celeb face like brad pitt or angelina jolie by yourself and you will be SHOCK !

( don't just blame on the thing that you haven't prove it yet )

  • Perfect ratio my ass

There are sometimes features on the face that aren't like the "mask"

but the person is still beautiful

The mask was probably invented by some guy who was ugly himself and had nothing better to do than to pretend to capture beauty and make everyone believe that thats how you had to look

    ...AND THATS MY OPINION

  • mate, that's shit.

  • So wait, how can there be two (male and female) perfect symetrical faces based on the golden ratio, shouldn't there only be one? If two, then why not more? Also, pretty dumb to fit a 3D perfect face to 2D. Come on and use your brains people!

  • if you hadn't noticed by now men and womens faces look different. The masks as different based on that difference. The proportions are based relative to individual features not as the face as a whole. It's a 2d outline made from the mathematics behind a profile shot, but da vinci was the one who first pointed out it was reoccurring in the face, yes in friggin 3d.

  • I just did the Golden ratio test.....and the celebrity who fit best was William Hung....better than Tom Cruise, Jessica Alba, or Jessica SImpson.

  • how (where) do you do a golden ratio test?

  • lmfao

  • If the golden ratio is to be believed, you could take a person with unattractive features (bad skin, smaller than normal lips and eyes, lack of high cheekbones, and call them beautiful just because they met this arbitrary formula. I don't think so.

  • That's like saying, if Red cars are to be believed (Car+Red paint=Red Car) that would mean you could take a blue car and and call it Red just because it met this arbitrary formula. Blue cars don't have Red paint- so it doesn't follow the formula ...which is why it's blue & not red. Someone with all the unnattractive features you mentioned wouldn't meet the formula- that's why our brain interprets these features unnattractive. You will never find an ugly person that meets the formula.

  • I disagree. Just because someone meets this formula would not make them beautiful. I should paint or draw a face that meets this ratio and then add unattractive features to that golden ratio face and you would get the idea.

  • The Golden Ratio isn't the only rule of attraction. Symattry is another rule and then there are others- for instance Clear skin has nothing to do with ratios, but is considered an attractive feature. Golden Ratios only deal with the skeletal/musculatar formatons only. An example of such a structure is a nose. If you make a nose that doesn't meet the ratios to the rest of the face, the face looks unbalanced and less attractive.

  • Right. So trying to break it down so simply as this ratio is not accurate. There exists many measures of beauty, and they do differ among cultures, although those features that denote youth and good health are probably almost universal. For example, If you are extremely overweight or extremely underweight, for example, you probably will not score well on a test of beauty regardless of your golden ratio measurement.

  • No where does it say that the golden ratio is the only rule of attraction. It merely states that you cannot be attractive without it. You can have perfect skin and everything else that has nothing to do with the skeletal/muscular structure of the face and still be unnattractive. In fact you will be unnattractive without it. Period. Show me proof (you know since divinci and every other scientist hasn't been able to find proof) and I'll drop it. but scientists agree..this ratio is needed.

  • Might agree with that....can not be super attractive if do not meet the ratios, but having the ratios themselves do not guarantee attractiveness. And despite the ratios, people still do have individual preferences.....but it could be that those are in addition to the golden ratio. So you could have great ratios and many may not find you attractive, but you need the ratios in additon to whatever that audience prefers; i.e., race; complextion; slim or curvey, etcetera.

  • Again, this doesn't make sense because all cultures use the same EXACT hip to waist ratio to define beauty. It's not size that matters but ratio. Thats why both Marylyn Monroe (size 14-16) and Kate Moss (size 0) have both been considered extremely attractive even though one was chunky and the other is very skinny...They both have the same exact hip to waist ratio. Scientist have been going over these things for years. When it comes to skeletal and muscular structure...ratios make it happen.

  • Another point....People's most beautiful man....Hugh Jackman....did not have a very high Golden Ratio score.

  • I was watching Oprah and she was talking about the Golden Ratio and the celeb that had the almost perfect face was Brad Pitt the gave him a 9.3 on a scale of 1-10 and they also did Halle Berry and Angelina.. they both were rated a 7 on the scale..they also said the average American is a 4-6 and they said they are still lookin for a person that has a perfect 10 face on the Golden Ratio scale

  • wow, that was really informative. Thanks!

  • If you didn't move around the cursor so much it would be alot better. That's a really annoying habit. Ugh.
