They probably are putting all the women super heroes in those skimpy skin-tight spandex outfits to get the young teenage boys to buy these comics....you have to remember that not everyone is old enough yet to purchase Playboy or Hustler mags. It is a real shame that comics have been reduced to this sad and sorry state. Like everything else that I loved from my youth...it has been dumbed down and exploted for a fast buck. Pretty soon no one will be around to even point out the differences. :(
Have u ever considered reading japanese, european comics or american comics that are not published by DC or MARVEL? I can guarantee that u will discover a new world of comics! Cheers
@b4owulf i agree i now read alot of manga not only dose it make more sence asin it dosnt have the cross over but the story lines are rather good examples bleach and deadman wonderland
I see the point with crossovers. Not only would their be a bunch of stories, but you have to figure out what order to read them in. Do you start with Iron Man, She Hulk, then Hulk to get to the Red Hulk series, or do you start with Hulk first, then Iron Man. Plus between all that you have to keep up with the Civil War story that's going on, Plus a Skrull invasion was being planed at the time. Just too much to keep track of at once.
You call it a lack of respect, but couldn't you also call it a lack of imagination. When you look at film and literature, it seems to be the same across the board.
I'm actually independent comic book writer and I actually ran into the problem of my artists (who I paid) constantly making my characters breasts HUGE! Its so common place now, they feel like there work will be looked over if they dont do it.
Sadly I believe that by creating something DIFFERENT and making it intresting by STORY actual character development.
They dont try to make you get a crush on the female characters through anything more then big tits and lots of leg.
#7 I really feel you on this one. This is one of the things that, as a potential new reader, kept me from reading comic books that weren't "runaways".
Just a point about no. 5: According to a friend, youre really not going to like whats going to take place in the DC universe soon. Its both a major crossover story, involves mass resurrection with said resurrected characters turning evil.
I am a reader from the 1960s and totally lost interest in the eqarly 80s. Enjoyed your video a lot.
