  • Media horny Chinese

  • THIS IS THE UK, a WESTERN COUNTRY not a Chinese country. And I DO LIKE HER SIMPLE HEALTHY COOKING! I rather eat hers than sitting at a restaurant in Chinatown surrounded by rude staff, sloppy overpriced oily food!!!

  • SHe's clearly aiming for simple, unpretentious cooking in British households, that's it. It doesn't matter if we are Chinese, White. We live in the UK and we need to ADAPT. If I want very authentic Chinese food, I will have them in my home country when I am back in East Asia for holidays.

  • I just wish Shannies Cookies would SHUT UP! I AM CHINESE and I LOVE HER RECIPES. The important thing is that she adapts these recipes to suit those of us who are living in the UK where authentic ingredients ARE NOT EASILY FOUND! !Please do not speak shit for all Chinese people saying that none of us would ever like her cooking

  • you all relax with the arguing cause even in China, different areas have different ingredients for the same dishes. It's a regional thing. I think that if it tastes good then it's worth learning how to cook it. Also it's interesting to taste the different styles for the same dish. Like painting the same scenery with different mediums and getting great results regardless. ; )

  • What a doll!

  • i'd hit that

  • I'd hit your girlfr--oh wait, you don't have one. You're too busy daydreaming about girls on YouTube.

  • damn idk wats wrong with u bitch

  • Thinking she was Chinese,I thought I'll give her my support since she did so well in Chings Kitchen. But this time,I think the BBC really messed it up.Cooking is cooking. Everybody has their own ways of cooking. Eventually there is a point where cooking just mixes into other cultures. Not when the Carrot is under cooked & the Bak Choi is over! Not when Chili Flakes & ShoaShing Rice Wine appears in every dish!Do you think I'll be watching this programme if there were anything good on TV these days?

  • xsuweix,do you think she's better than Nancy Lam, Yan can cook?Do every Chinese put Shao Shing Rice wine in every stir fry?I know my mum makes her own rice wine and her own Tofu!CHH actually makes Ken Hom look good! How awkard it is to be "Hand Feed" by a total stranger as well as SHARING the same spoon, and having her look into your face, waiting for a answer!I have no doubt she can cook (Chings Kitchen ONLY)but I'm just saying she gives Chinese food a bad name. Which T/A serves TIGER PRAWNS S&S

  • @ShanniesCookies I've not been on youtube for a while and it's so funny to see people arguing about Chinese cooking. Somehow I agree strongly with some of your points. I got excited watching her first show but after a while it's just the same thing (shaoxing wine, chilli flakes, Sichuan peppercorn, Chinese vigenar, like the very standard Chinese kitchen cupboard) over and over again, producing food that is less and less inspiring. Am just disappointed!

  • Look xsuweix. WHY SO PERSONAL?!? I am entitled to what I think, just like you. Obviously I've had more Hot "CHINESE" Dinners than you have! Stop contradicting yourself (Previous Comments)! I am not just commenting on this video! I am commenting on every episode aired! If I did get a job with the BBC it wont just be cooking, mate! Believe me I'm already applying! Actually my students think I can do a better job! When CCME finished I did enjoy the Hairy Bakers (Bikers) very much, thankyou.

  • Look "xsuweix" I'm Chinese as well, but even my OLD FOLKES think she isn't that good! Yes she is cooking, but please don't advertise it as Chinese food made easy! It can be thrown together by anyone that can turn on the cooker! She was a lot better in Chings Kitchen....but they have totally ran out of ideas...never mind recipes! Ignorant is when someone does not admit he is being fooled! I still haven't met a Chinese that is inspired by her cooking.

  • Her Recipies are really Great

shes really talented at cooking but only came on BBC a bit... i think they should put

Ching He huang on tv more she comes on late sometimes...

  • I like her recipes. but my friends and I find her a bit sickly sweet and a bit annoying.

she always seems to get the wrong people on her show.they look nervous and are not sure of chinese food.surely she can get people who are more passionate about chinese food on her own show!

i wish she could make it more humouous and just relax and be real!

maybe she should watch the hairy bikers!

  • Why is everyone bitching on this chick. She's sexy and dunno why there are Chinese here bitching, from the slop they serve in their restraunts here in the UK dunno how they have the nerve. It's obvious she ain't the only chinese not doing it wholesome. to those saying she ain't chinese she is Taiwanese well taiwan is part of china it is actually the peoples republic of China. Don't diss on her looks either she is realy cute I like her jealous fools.

  • Anyway, chefs have different ways of cooking, my scrambled egg and bacon is different from the scrambled egg and bacon you get in restraunt X but does it mean I am any less english and it is any less authentic english than restraunt x owners? NO Not at all. Everyone having their say on what is authentic chinese food? well believe me no 2 Chinese dishes are the same restraunt to restraunt, home to home so shut the hell up and stop dreaming. If you dont like her dont cook her food and dont watch.

  • If you all are such goddamn experts on Chinese cooking then why the hell would you KNOWITALLS need to watch a cooking program or buy a book anyway. Just do it all yourself EXPERTS.

  • No, Taiwan is "The Republic of China", not "The People's Republic of China". Whether it is "part of China" or not depends very much on what you mean by "part of China". But let's not get into that! I agree with everything else you said :)

  • Hi, if you'd like to watch some really cool and different Indian restaurant curry recipes then please click on my profile and view my channel.

Give them a whirl, and let me know how you get along...

    Hope you enjoy

    Cheers

    Chef Shaan

P.s Clarissa Dickson Wright of The Two Fat Ladies fame praised one of my dishes so much that she put my dish (fish with ginger) in her "best-ever-eaten-dishes list"; she also mentioned my restaurant in her autobiography.

  • im not chinese or taiwanese or anything like that but what ever it is she is doing works, she may not be staying true to chinese or taiwanese culture or recipe but she is giving people at least a little bit of an insite into foods from those cultures, even if she made a dish with potatoes noodles and chicken which originally doesnt use those indredients she has shown people who probably wouldnt be able to grasp the original recipe how to get a similar taste and style with basic ingredients.

  • Yea, I agree. She's giving people an idea on which they can further build on. But maybe a better title for this book would have been 'Chinese-ish Food Made Easy'.

For someone who is starting to cook, like me, this book is really useful.

  • ShanniesCookies, totally agree with you.

The Taiwanese I know also don't like to see someone who bailed out of Taiwan to go to South Africa/UK, like a lot of KMT Families.

  • One of the best chinese cookery books is written by a white american woman called gloria bley miller. Its called the thousand recipe chinese cookbook. If anyone disagrees with me please tell me what is better and I'll go out and but it tomorrow.

  • No offence to the girl.....but she was better in Ching's Kitchen, but even that just scrapped past my approval. She's a joke man.

Surely her gran showed her how to make tofu...the homemade way....not go to leicester and get an English man to show you a Chinese tradition! How funny Ching. Get your act together.

    Totally agree with you Maverick3110

    I'll show you what's Chinese cooking.....now where's my wok!

  • She can't cook, she's really not pretty, she can't really present. She's isn't even Chinese, she was born in Taiwan and grew up in South Africa and London. How did she get on the telly?

  • But she's cute!

  • Please...no more Shaoshing rice wine, coarse sea salt, chilli flakes....Oh my days!

  • don't forget the soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil and sugar. She uses those ingredients in basically every dish.

  • she uses basic ingredients like that because shes trying to teach people in britain and people who find it hard to cook food from other cultures how to cook chinese food, it may not be full of a ton of different ingredients but thats pretty much the point of it, its supposed to be easy.

  • great programme smart lady.

  • So did her parents own a Chinese Take-Away? Probably not! So don't go giving them a bad name women! We do not put 16 T spoons of sugar in each sweet & sour dish....how the hell can you hide that! I bet all you guys out there reallly wanna learn how to cook meals you eat at the Take-Aways, Restaurants, and what we eat at home....and not this crap. She is clearly aiming for the western market cos you wouldn't know the difference! She wouldn't be on the shelf with Rick Stein and Marco P White!

  • and the English man in front of me was buying 2 woks and 2 bottles of Shaoshing rice wine with various other stuff....well she is doing a good job promoting for the shop.

I might as well by a Chinese cook book written but a white man.

  • I can't believe she made that man eat that spring roll pastry raw...I mean it wont kill him......but all Chinese know it is for frying. If she wants to just roll and eat she should get the rice sheets that soak in warm water! Dufuss! You won't get a Chinese eating her food. It was quite funny actually that other day I was shopping in Wing Yip .... to be continued....

  • If you wanna really learn to cook Chinese....you need to know one! You do not throw the noodles in the crab (One of her Episodes) cos you are going to get crab shells all over your noodles. You should stir fry the noodles.......place on the plate.....next make the crab and sauce and pour in the centre........!Dufuss! What happened to the good old classics like Yan can Cook and Nancy Lam.....Oh forget that Ken Hom....his wok is never hot enough! Come on BBC give me a job!

  • As a Chinese.....we are appalled and not impressed. She is clearly aiming for the western market, as no Chinese will be buying her book! To be continue.............

  • ShanniesCookies:

As a chinese, i like her recipes very much. I have made many successful dinners thanks to Ching!I'll definitely buy her books.

  • When she is cooking in the streets her wok is too high to toss over the fire. Remember the episode she made Sweet & Sour King Prawns......those were tiger prawns and they will cost you about £30 a dish in the restruant for 6 prawns! She should use fresh pineapples......she poured the whole tin of pineapple juice (normally with added syrup) in the dish and which is not healthy and not thicken it with corn starch, it was runny! It was free food.....who wont eat it! To be continued...........

  • You know what, I just can't help but have to leave a comment. She should not call this or even her book.....Chinese cooking made easy. Should be Cooking Chinese and fusion of foods from other cultures! She should tie her hair up....stop talking with her hands. That Shaoshing rice wine, chilli flakes, and sea salt is doing my head in! If you have noticed she uses that a lot in her cooking. Coriander is like a compost heap she throws in at the end! To be continued..........

  • it's obviously not the only one comment that you've made about this video. what's wrong with those ingridents?i don't think you would have made a better presenter if bbc gave u the job.i don't think we will enjoy your show as you sound very ignorant, immature and aggressive.

perhpas your comments are doing people's eyes in!

excuse me, but it would make you less look like a fool if you would talk more reasonably.

  • She's hot:p

  • As far as cooking is concerned, she's not that great. But she's cute.
