saw this vid for the first time like a year ago and it made me buy a DD-66 and learn drums but it went in the trash yesterday because two of the pads broke permanently [after many times fixing them]...ill get another sometime...and good cover =]
I'm not sure of getting dd55 or 65. which one is more suitable for metal drumming?( cuz i watched some videos of dd-65 that were all about jazz drumming -swing things-)and what r the differences btween them?
you should definitely choose dd65. It has one more drum pad. Which you can use as an extra cymbal. Also you can connect your mp3 player to dd65's input and you can play along with the mp3. also the location of the pads in dd65 is better I think.. in dd55, hihat was in the middle, which is not the case for regular metal drum kit. In dd65 hi-hat is on the left as usual..
Hey man.. I've got a DD-45 and a KP65.. where shoud I plug it?!?

i think i'll buy one too. i hope i can learn quickly though.
one question: can you direct the sound to a headphone ? ( I guess this must be standard but better safe than sorry.... )
ElessarNumenesse 4 years ago
Yep, it has a headphone jack, to listen while playing.. Also you can use this jack to record the drum sound into computer..
In addition, it has midi-out port for recording and editing as a midi file..
Thank you all for the nice comments by the way

there is a new version of this device(Yamaha dd65) and it is around 200$ in US. For dd55, I think 150$ would be enough to get it.
