I once found these really wierd smoke grenades hidden in this german bunker from this lever its called like a "nebelwerfer" or sumthin german sounding and it looks just like those german stick grenades but it had like wires on it and a patch on it. Verdun was one of the few in the west the lasted very long. Once the old style tanks started to roll in, the other sides trenches would get rushed hard.

For those of you that are curious, this is the story of Mr. Leonard "Bud" Lommel, who passed away earlier this year. He actually scaled a freakin cliff while being shot down at, made it to the top and responsible for eliminating several German artillery weapons. He no doubt saved the lives of hundreds of American soldiers as a result. So just for your knowledge, this is not the same as Saving Private Ryan, where the soldiers were storming the beach. This was 100x's worse! RIP Mr. Lommel!

Not being an ass, just a correction, D-Day and Normandy are two different things. Normandy was dropped into by paratroopers. This is Pointe du Hoc, both took place on D-Day.

this was at point du hoc, ive been there, its an incredible place, if u ever find urself in normandy this is the place to go, its the 1 place virtually un touched since the war ans is covered in craters and blown up bunkers its a must see, but bring a torch so u can explore the inside of those bunkers, its really good
