On my Desktop Opera 9.64 and on my Wii and DSi the current versions.

Does the nintendo DSI play the exact same games as the Nintendo DS?

Yes and no. It plays every DS game, but it can't use peripherals connected to slot 2 (e.g. Guitar Hero) because there is no slot 2. There is only a SD drive.

In future there will also be games with special DSi features like camera support and games only for DSi.
