It is a slightly better track with Roger singing, but he couldn't sing it while drumming, similar to how Brian couldn't sing '39 while playing the guitar.
@Queenfan81 WHAT????????????? Roger can sing while drumming, he does it all the time and Brian sings while playing, do you just make things up as you go?
they didnt mix son and daughter with brighton rock mate . the story behind it is this.
when they did these early 74 gigs they did son and daughter and brian would put in a solo at the end it then later changed and they re used the solo for brighton rock but this is how that solo started yes

the bass player of queen {john deacon} brought us misfire, your my best friend, you and i,spread your wings,in only seven days, another one bites the dust, back chat,i want to break free, friends will be friends, one year of love and many more!
Thank God and you for posting, i survived the crazy, dazed and confuzed days and nights on the sunset strip 1975 to 1982 . the best music era to me Thanks again
I'd downloaded this whole Concert.. it's very different from the Eighties... but i like it:D it's a pity that i wasn't born at that time.. i've missed a lot :(
Sorry folks didn't mean to start a war here..What I meant simply was that Queen were MORE than capable of making any sound they wanted to suit the song WITHOUT synths..listen to the intro to "Death on 2 Legs" or for that matter the entire "Night at the Opera" album for proof. When you have all those synth sounds easily available you do tend to overuse them. When they had to CREATE them they made sure it benefited the song and didn't BECOME the song.
I totally agree with you... best albums are from 1973 to 1978 and without synths with inbcredibly talented composition, sound and lyrics... but beeing very very critical with queen (which I love), I think that the only "10 points" albums are Queen II and A Night at The Opera... and of course I know perfectly well the whole discography to say this... and IT IS MY OPINION.. jajaja
The pinnacle for me and many critics was "News of The World". Don't forget that one! Had Brian's masterpiece "It's Late" plus Roger's "Shear Heart Attack", John's "Spread Your Wings" and of course "We Will Rock You". But being an early fan, I will say their first four albums are in the top 20 rock albums of all time :) Those are all the songs I couldn't live without.
First let me say Queen were an amazing unique group. Freddie was one of the best front men ever and Brian's tone is recognizable from the first note. However Queen as a band changed once they released an album that DIDN'T say "No Synthesizers" on it.
That was "The Game".
They did release good tunes after that but the band just lost something.
Pretty ignorant to call someone stuck up when you have no idea what their opinion is based on, don't be so presumptuous. =p And cranie4, saying they "lost something" sounds like you're stating a fact, (which people will get defensive over) so I believe if you had said "lost something for me" that would have covered it nicely. :) No one can argue your personal impression.
I don't think the synths necessarily changed their music...they were changing direction anyway. But I do love the '70s stuff best when they were more of a metal band :) They look so cool in this clip....
Amazing and superb until the "The Game" was released and it was the start of selling out the the "80's" ......and as you said the band "lost something". I was good with what was happening with them from their start and all the way through the "70's" and after then I wasn't quite as impressed.
Search here for "Great king rat/ Son and daughter - Opera". Very nice covers by this Chilean band. They´re not a cover band but they always include one or two Queen songs in thier shows. Enjoy!
The Game is the best album ever made. Kicks the shit out of Sergeant Peppers any day. How many albums do you hear the lead guitarist, drummer AND vocalist on lead vocals?
Until about a month ago, I had never heard a recording of them live. The sound is so differant from what I had gotton used to. Thank you so much for this.
Well dapunk1975 you have to think. Anyone can record ina studio. Because it can make william hung sound good with the technology we've had for the past 40 years of cleaning up voices. So, it should go by who you think is the best live. In my opinion Queen takes the cake. they are no doubt the greatest live band a ticket can get you. =p
It is so hard for me to choose between Led Zeppelin and Queen. Both of them, in my opinion, at the greatest rock bands as far as record sales and live performance.
OMG it's wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, some of those songs were great, synthesizers combined with other musical instruments has quite a unique sound, dont be so stuck up.

I don't think I'm being "stuck up". And I have a pretty good idea how music works. Maybe if I put a "IMHO" in front that will cover it?

dont give her/him a bad time. what she said is exactly true. Queen's most complex non pop music was made in the 70's, without synths.
