Hmmm....not sure if there is a way to do that, have played around with it a little and can't seem to find a way. As far as I know you just have to make the swatches and color them one at a time. Will let you know if I discover otherwise!
Hi Heidi: At position 4.11 in the video you say "I've already pulled those up to here" in reference to the colors in the group. Is there an easy way to pull the colors in the color group over to the artboard? ( My question is similar to what "megalicious31" asked 4 months ago. I tried what you suggested with the eyedropper but had no success - eyedropper icon in color group window had slash across it and trying eyedropper in tool menu produced an error message sound)
Thank you very very much Heidi. You solved my biggest problem which I was having from a long time, i am a textile designer and ever had problem to change colorways of artwork, now I have a great great tip which made my job easiest.
But there is still one question: How can we change artwork having halftones and gradients on a scanned fabric?
@digitaldeziner Glad you are having success with the tutorials! Regarding changing colors in artwork with halftones and gradients from a scanned fabric, you will first need to vectorize the scan, and then whatever colors are in your halftones or gradients should just come up in the edit colors palette. So if you have a three color gradient of red, blue and green, then those three colors should just come up in the edit colors palette. I think this is what you are asking...? Let me know!!!
@megalicious31 I am not sure if I understand your question... Do you want to show square swatches below the artwork that represent all of the colors in the pattern? Just make a square swatch, and then eyedrop each color from the artwork. Is this what you mean?
I've been looking all over the place for a tutorial as well-taught as yours! Thank you so much for putting this out there. I learned so much, so quickly.

Hey Heidi - just wondering if you could tell me how to drag the colour swatches onto the artboard once you have traced the original artwork? Thanks
